Chamomile from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Pure Chamomile Tea – Region: Egypt

77 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 2/5
Jul. 13th, 2015

Wow, well, either chamomile is growing on me, or I've finally learned how to brew it. This one has a very strong (but not bitter) flavor. I heated up the water for one minute in a microwave before adding the sachet, and (based on the reviews below) kept the steep time shorter than normal. Once it looked sufficiently go...

Picture of Vanilla Almond

Vanilla Almond from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

73 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 3rd, 2015

The smell of this tea is amazing, with a very strong almond vibe. The flavor picks up the black tea a bit too much for me, but I would imagine that big fans of black tea would find it well balanced. I don't detect a lot of vanilla, but it does seem to impart a sweetness.

In brief, it's great for what it is, but it'...

Emperor's Clouds and Mist Green Tea from Teavana

Style: Clouds & Mist (Yun Wu) – Region: China

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 1st, 2015

A nice green tea! It has a quality that is both vegetable and not-quite-baked. I'm not entirely sure how to describe this. It tastes similar to teas that I had while in Japan, and which I enjoyed very much there. It seems to have cause a slight tickle in my throat the way that some green teas can. I still need to figur...

Fruit Medley (Fruit Sangria) from Adagio Teas

Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: Blend

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 25th, 2015

A great herbal tea when you crave something tart. I love its strong fruitiness. The aroma has a floral accent as well. An excellent cup as far as I'm concerned. :-)

I had it iced from a coffee shop. Because it was cold I drank it very quickly. It was wonderfully refreshing.

Ginger Peach from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon

80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 24th, 2015

The peach and ginger flavors in this tea are muted, but very smooth. I really like this one! A part of me wishes that the fruit and spice were stronger, but mostly I think this makes an excellent morning tea. The black tea is robust without being overpowering or bitter, and it holds up to multiple infusions well. Great...

African Sunset from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend

73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Jun. 23rd, 2015

Zesty! Not as complex or interesting as it could be, but quite nice. Then lemon and rooibos flavors go well together. Pricier than what I would like, but a nicely refreshing blend with a nice aroma.

Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: Blend

100 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 13th, 2015

I've had a hard time finding a chamomile that I like, but this one I LOVE. Smooth, aromatic, perfectly balanced, soothing, and easy to brew. Instead of bitter, it tastes almost sweet in a delicately lemony way. This is chamomile perfection. :-)

Picture of Orange Sencha

Orange Sencha from Two Leaves and a Bud

Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: China

37 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Jun. 12th, 2015

Meh. To me, the orange flavor wasn't enough to compete with the bitter tea. I'm not particularly into in orange alone as a flavoring, anyway. I saw fannings at the bottom which I suspect were increasing the bitterness over time. Adding honey helped, but overall this tea simply isn't worth the price.

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 2/5
Jun. 9th, 2015

In my opinion, among the best offerings by Two Leaves Tea. This is a very well done Darjeeling. A bit pricy for bagged tea, but worth it when you're in the mood to splurge. It doesn't need a long steep, either. Mmmmmm. It's really hitting the spot tonight.

Picture of Grapefruit Oolong

Grapefruit Oolong from Adagio Teas

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 8th, 2015

Surprisingly good, though not a favorite. It has a relatively dark/roasted flavor from the tea (which isn't my favorite but was done well for what it is) and a lighter grapefruit flavor than I expected based on the smell of the dry leaf. The citrus flavoring really improved this style of oolong for me.

The second cu...

Jun. 2nd, 2015

Ooooh, now this I like! This is my favorite flavored pu-erh by a lot. The tea is present, but not fishy. The fruity and nutty flavours blend perfectly with the chocolate bits, creating a complex and pleasing aroma and flavor. There is no bitterness, even after 5 minutes at boiling. Wonderful tea!

I also tried this t...

Style: Fruit White Tea – Region: Fujian, China

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 31st, 2015

The aroma of the dry leaf is wonderful if intensely floral and fruity are what you like. Love it.

The white tea comes out much more stongly in the taste than in the scent. For my palate, the flavors blend pretty well -- though I'd be fine with even more blueberry flavor. Leaving the tea on a warmer improves it and d...

Pina Colada from Adagio Teas

93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
May. 21st, 2015

Excellent herbal tea! The flavor and aroma are both dominated by pineapple and coconut--both of which I like. It's delightfully fresh and sweet without sweeteners. I do wish that the flavor was more intense, so I'll try a higher concentration next time. It brews easily without going bitter, and so can brew as long as ...

Traditional Guayusa (Teabags) from Runa

Style: Guayusa – Region: Ecuador

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 15th, 2015

Very interesting. This herbal tea has a smooth, herbaceous sweetness that reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on. It's somewhere between chia seeds and, what, goji berries? It's good, though.

It also has undertones of non-bitter black tea, though it contains no tea.

It easily makes a second cup an...

May. 13th, 2015

Not bad. The spices before brewing smell delicious, but their flavor is more muted in the drink. Both the spice and the chocolate are a bit more understated than I would like. I think I've been spoiled by hot chocolate when it comes to judging chocolate tea.

Certainly worth a shot, but still not the chocolate tea of...

EXCELLENT flavor combination. I love the fruitiness and the slight astringency (not bitterness) from the hibiscus. Both complement the rooibos very well. This sounded very good to me, so I'm glad that Rishi doesn't disappoint. If the ingredients list sounds good to you, you'll love it too.

It resteeps multiple times...

Apricot Green from Adagio Teas

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 25th, 2015

I taste the apricot much more strongly than the green tea, though the green tea does give it body. It could use a little something (like coconut) to add sweetness and complexity, but it's very good. The aroma of apricot is strong and delicious.

Very good! Sweet, soothing, and rich without bitterness. One of the better blends I've found with peppermint. I actually tried this one in sachet form, but it's the same as their loose leaf. Definitely impressive for chamomile. I easily got two good cups out of it.

Meh. Generic fanning green tea. Not too bad if you include honey, but it can still go bitter. If you have nothing else it's not the worst, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Jasmine Romance (Jasmine Green Tea) from Ahmad Tea

Style: Jasmine Tea – Region: China

50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 8th, 2015

The scent and flavor of jasmine is strong, and if you add honey that definitely improves this tea. However, as it cools it goes bitter (even with the bag taken out), and without the honey it's very meh. Not an impressive tea, but probably not the worst jasmine green tea in a bag. Worth trying if jasmine is something yo...

This is probably my favorite tea by Ahmad so far -- great for when you're in a sweet mood. This one smells exactly like those after dinner peppermints you can get free at many restaurants. If you don't add any sweetener, it can go a bit bitter. But if you add honey, then it also *tastes* exactly like those mints. Defin...

An excellent, high quality chai. The leaf smells so refreshing! I love the spice mixture.

I've tried this one a few different ways and have reached a few conclusions:

1) It's very nice even without milk and sugar.

2) If you want to make a latte, make sure the milk is heated at the same time as the water before...

Surprisingly, I found this one acceptably enjoyable. The tea was nothing dazzling, but it wasn't bitter (after steeping briefly) and I got two cups out of it. The second cup was weaker, but still decent. The fannings infuse quickly, so you don't need to keep the bag in for long. I found this in the cupboard of a friend...
