Picture of Strawberry Vanilla Little Citizens' Herb Tea

Strawberry Vanilla Little Citizens' Herb Tea from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 15th, 2015

Ooh, another well done herbal tea. Rooibos proves again to be an excellent base for flavors. Strawberry, rooibos, and vanilla--simple, but wonderfully balanced. The level of sweetness is perfect and there's a touch of creaminess. It's a bit like a not-overly-sweet strawberry cream hard candy that I could absent-minded...

Raspberry Rose Hibiscus from Republic of Tea

Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: Blend

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 14th, 2015

Mmmmm. Though not quite perfect, the ingredients are the stuff of perfection. I love this one and want it in a loose leaf version--which they sadly don't offer.

The most distinct scent and flavor is of raspberry, though the hibiscus adds a satisfying mouthfeel and its own tartness and the rose adds a hint of floral ...

Feb. 14th, 2015

Candied pineapple with assorted fruits and flowers. Nice! A balanced mixture of tartness and sweetness for those who love robust fruity flavors. There is no need for additional sweetening.

The pineapple, the strongest taste by far, tastes natural rather than fake. The rest of the flavors are the support team, and th...

Pumpkin Spice Black Tea from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 13th, 2015

Very nice tea, so long as you drink it rather quickly! The tea loses flavor as it loses heat. But the first sips I had smelled and tasted wonderful--somewhere between the spices used for pumpkin pie (without pumpkin flavoring) and those used in apple cinnamon oatmeal (without an apple or very oatmeal-ish flavor). So, b...

Acai Green Tea from Republic of Tea

Style: Fruit Green Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 12th, 2015

Definitely a fruity, juicy tea in a delightful way. I'd like it more if the flavor was either more complex or more robust, but it's pretty solid. The acai is distinct and good. I don't really taste a lot of the green tea flavor, but it does seem to provide substance.

This got a rating of being an outstanding value b...

Mango Ceylon from Republic of Tea

Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend

80 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 11th, 2015

Surprisingly good! Though the flavor is better than the aroma (which is a bit weak), this is among the best blends between fruit and black tea that I've tried. Very smooth, neither bitter nor overly sweet. There's the hint of raisin-like flavor, but it's also properly balanced and not dominant. This cup also provides a...

Honey Ginseng from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: China

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 10th, 2015

Not a bad tea. Not bitter at all. The strongest aroma and flavor by far is the honey, which is strong but doesn't come off as fake. I think I catch a hint of the ginseng, but it's hard to detect. The green tea provides more body than flavor.

Since the tea is in fannings (as are all the Republic of Tea bags), it def...

Good Hope Vanilla Red Tea from Republic of Tea

Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: ?????

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 9th, 2015

A decent, keeps-it-simple vanilla rooibos. Loose leaf would definitely be better, but this is solid for a tea bag. You definitely need to be in the mood for a dessert tea, though. Good if you want a substantial, rich, after dinner drink that won't give you a buzz.

I tried it with milk added for the second cup. This ...

Feb. 8th, 2015

As with all tea bags I've tried from Republic of Tea, I recommend a short steep with this one. Less than a minute works fine. You get plenty of flavor, no bitterness, and a serviceable (though weaker) second cup.

This seemed to be a high quality Earl Grey, but that style of tea isn't my favorite. The tea was definit...

Feb. 7th, 2015

I like this one. It's got a balanced fruity versus tea-ish flavor, isn't bitter, and satisfies a craving for slight astringency/tartness. When I think about it I do notice the sage there, but it wouldn't have jumped out to me otherwise. It simply contributes to an undertone of herbaceousness.

I'd like it even more i...

Feb. 7th, 2015

I tried this tea again today, and have decided to redo my original rating rather than simply update it.

Okay, the smell is very nice--fruity without being excessively intense or artificial. The black tea provides body and the slight zing of caffeine without making the tea bitter. I didn't steep it long and I think t...

Very solid tea. This is another one that reminds me of oatmeal with fruit bits in it. The tea is well balanced, not bitter, and slightly creamy. The apricot works great too. Quite pleasant, especially if you're needing something caffeine free. Not a top flavor for me, but one I could see myself occasionally craving. Th...

Amazing taste in the first cup! Perfectly balanced between sweetness and tartness, at a lovely level for frequent sipping. Exactly my kind of flavored tea. My only complaint is that the second cup has weaker flavor. That seems to be a trend for certain brands, unfortunately including tea bags from Republic of Tea. I'm ...

Sleepytime Herbal Tea from Celestial Seasonings

As someone who greatly prefers peppermint over spearmint, this tea was notably less offensive than I expected. In fact, it isn't even bad. If toning down spearmint gum and putting it in drink form sounds good to you, you'll enjoy this one. It isn't a favorite of mine, but that's due to personal taste rather than qualit...

Sweet, tart, very fruity, and reasonably inexpensive when buying a container. The flavor of this tea is very well balanced and quite good for a tea bag. I'd prefer an even more intense flavor, and so might use two bags at once. If you crave a flavor that's tart without being intensely sour, this one could easily fit th...

Hmm, this tea is quite interesting. I'd call it my second favorite chamomile-based tea so far (after the Lemon Chamomile by Numi). The flavors added are sweet in a rather creamy way, and it tastes pretty good--not amazing, but solid. There is none of the bitterness I often associate with chamomile.

However, very odd...

Not the best hibiscus tea I've had, but quite solid. The hibiscus and lemon are both there without one overpowering the other. When you want a moderately tart tea that isn't very expensive, this would be a good choice. I enjoyed both Tropical Hibiscus (by Simply Balanced) and Passion (the full leaf version, by Tazo) b...

Not too bad, but nothing to rave about. Straightforward peppermint, so if that's what you're craving it certainly works. I would enjoy it if in the mood for non-sweet peppermint, but otherwise it's underwhelming.

I would add that, though I don't know why, the second cup was superior to the first.

Not a bad matcha. I used a little milk and think this would be even better with all milk instead out water. I like this kind of drink creamy. Also felt it needed some sweetness, so I added honey. This set of flavors blended very well. I'm looking forward to trying this tea a number of different ways.

I tried this when it was 50% off, and so the price wasn't bad.

I wouldn't call this precisely a s'more, but it is very pleasantly close. The sweetness was present, but not overwhelming, which is great. If you sort of meditate on graham crackers, you can taste them. All in all, a balanced and well done mixture of swe...

Easily one of the best ginger blends I've ever had. Smooth, soothing, invigorating, and bright--without being overpowering. An excellent choice for someone new to ginger teas who might find the straight stuff a bit too intense. The lemon blends well and the green tea gives it body. It doesn't go bitter easily, and mult...

Tastes halfway between a Darjeeling and a typical black tea. I didn't like it the first time I tried it, but this time it's quite smooth. Don't oversteep it to avoid bittterness. Slightly raisin-like.

Whole bag of fannings diffuses immediately.

Not bitter or otherwise bad, but not really for me. A pretty subdued Earl Grey with a light bergamot and a fairly nondescript black tea base. Preferred mine with a bit of milk. Would drink if it was the only thing available, but much better exists.
