Beet Cabbage - Savory Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 7th, 2014
Another very good "savory" tea. The most notable of the flavors listed is the cabbage. Though normally I'm not a big fan of this flavor, here it works very well. No doubt the inclusion of beet is responsible for the pink look of the brew. Overall, the flavors of vegetable and spices are very balanced.

Broccoli Cilantro - Savory Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend97 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 6th, 2014
Just bought a mixed pack of Numi's "savory" teas, and this one does not disappoint. It tastes a bit like a well-spiced vegetable soup, without tasting salty or "brothy". At once soothing and invigorating, this is a tea (there's decaf green tea in it) that I could see myself pouring to cope with a winter cold.
As per...
Yunnan Breakfast from Rishi Tea
Style: Yunnan Red – Region: Yunnan, China57 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 1st, 2014
Pleasant for a black tea, not bitter, and seems to be of good quality, but it tastes pretty ordinary to me. Black tea isn't my favorite, but I like trying them to see what I'll find. I added milk and this improved it a bit. I don't have anything negative to say about this tea, but it isn't really for me.

Oct. 25th, 2014
The first and second cup of this one were both moderately good, though completely different in flavor. Both were minty and herbaceous, but only the first cup was chocolaty. The bits of chocolate immediately diffused out. After my first sip, I decided to add milk, which improved the cup. The second cup had no chocolate,...

The best word for this tea is comforting. It's a nice tea for winding down. I wasn't blown away with the herbaceous flavor, but for a bagged tea I felt it was pretty impressive. I can easily get two good cups out of a bag.

Not as bad as I was worried this one would be. It's not a favorite, just because I tend to peter other fruit flavors, but it's certainly drinkable--a mixture of tart and sweet. I think cherry like this works best mixed with other flavors.

Now this has become not only my favorite by Celestial Seasonings, but also my favorite tea involving chamomile--which normally I dislike. Here the chamomile is subtle and well-blended with the other flavors. The peach is also nice, and the tea has the right level of sweetness. In short, I like this one. :-D

Raspberry Zinger Herbal Tea from Celestial Seasonings
Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 20th, 2014
This is my favorite of Celestial Seasonings's offerings so far. Sweet, tangy, and straightforwardly fruity are how I'd describe this one. It has a bit of the "Jolly Rancher" candy flavor to it, but isn't excessive with the sweetness. I think the tartness evens out the sweetness much better for this tisane than it did f...

Not bad, but not quite what I was hoping for. Ginger, lemon, and hibiscus are all dominant flavors--which sounds like it should be awesome, but for some reason didn't blend perfectly in this execution. There's nothing offensive about the flavor, though. Oh, and I did enjoy it more with food, so perhaps it simply needs ...

I have mixed feelings about this one. The aroma reminds me exactly of a Jolly Rancher, which is great as a candy but strikes me as too intensely sweet and artificially-fruity for a whole drink. As I sip the drink, it's grown on me a bit. I think the hibiscus probably helps cut the sweetness. It's still not really right...

Not bad! Lightly tart and simply blueberry, I enjoy this one. There's really nothing else going for it, but if you're in the mood for a straightforward fruit tea, it fits the bill. As people mentioned, the smell is more robust than the flavor. I tried this with milk and it made a decent (but not amazing) latte.

Not a bad green tea. It has a little ginger-like flair, though ginger is not listed as an ingredient. The peppermint and lemongrass are subtle. I don't know what gingko tastes like, but it must blend pretty well because I don't taste anything off putting.
Neither bland nor fantastic, it's certainly worth trying at l...

Not bad for a black tea. Detected a little bitterness in the finish, but it wasn't off putting. Also smelled and tasted subtly raisin-like. Not bad, but not outstanding and not my personal favorite style of tea--especially given that it's rather pricey.

Not bad, but I'm sure there is better out there. The chocolate, maté, and mint blend well. I do wish they'd used only peppermint and not included the spearmint, but that's just because I'm not crazy about that flavor in general.
Also of note is that I definitely felt a caffeine-like heady jolt. So it certainly func...
Alpine Berry Herbal from Two Leaves and a Bud

I have mixed feelings about this one. As a fan of fruity, tart, and hibiscus-based teas, I feel like I should like this one more than I did. There was nothing bad about it; for me the flavors seemed balanced, not overly intense. But at the same time, I don't find it brag worthy. Certainly worth a shot if you like herba...

As a pure white tea, this wasn't bad, but it wasn't a flavor to get me excited. It didn't taste bitter to me, which was a plus, but overall it was fairly nondescript. (Or maybe I'm missing nuances because I need to internalize the language of tea better?)
I'm not sure what else to say about it. I'm sure people who p...

I actually found this tea to be refreshing and clean. It's simple, but not in a way that's bitter or at all unpleasant. I brewed it a short time at 175 °F and was pleasantly surprised by how very drinkable it is. The aroma is very light and the infusion is a pale green. Its a bit plain by itself, so I recommend drinki...

I found this at $5.75 for a 7 ounce bag, making it some of the cheapest loose leaf tea I've ever found. Excellent value!
That said, unfortunately, the tea goes bitter far too easily. The leaves are cut very small, allowing it to diffuse quickly. At the bottom of my cup are dark green fannings that couldn't be strain...

Based on the deliciously spicy dry aroma I was very excited to try this tea. Unfortunately, the flavor was much more flat, weak, and less interesting. How unfortunate.
On the plus side, it makes for a solid latte. So if you like your tea with milk and perhaps a bit of sugar, this may well be a favorite cup for you. ...

Oooh, very tasty tulsi! Very smooth, lightly spiced with complexities that taste not-quite-floral, not-quite-citrus. Very soothing aroma too.
It can steep for a long time without turning bitter (which is good, because it diffuses slowly) and has a lovely light gold color. The water I used was fresh boiled. My first ...

If I didn't know better, I'd have thought this was a chamomile, not a Darjeeling. The mint was fine, if you like mint, but overall I just wasn't impressed.

Though I'm not generally big on Jasmine green teas, this one was obviously high quality. The floral aspects were heady, but pretty well balanced. I brewed the tea a little too long for the first cup, resulting in it having a slight bitterness characteristic of some Jasmine green teas. My second cup successfully avoided...

Very smooth, fresh tea. I definitely like the lighter, non-bitter taste of Darjeelings compared against regular black teas. The first cup of this one was particularly good, while the second one was slightly weaker in flavor. Still, I enjoyed the very lightly floral taste, which contributed a pleasant complexity to the ...

Given that this is an extremely affordable green tea, I really wish I liked it more. I really enjoy matcha, but this mixture with regular green tea is a bit bitter. It's best to keep it to a short steeping and then add cream and sugar. Though I will point out that the second and third cup actually had fewer problems th...

Now THIS is my kind of Earl Grey. Love the aroma. The flavor is at once sweet, citrusy, and deliciously floral--all blended perfectly into a beautifully soothing, must-be-experienced tea. The black tea provides body, but imparts no bitterness at all. Just perfection. :-)
