Yunnan Gold (Golden Yunnan) from Adagio Teas
Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Yunnan, China80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 18th, 2013
I thought this tea was great. I really liked the roasty smell, and thought it was a great tea for a cool fall morning.
I didn't notice a peppery smell or taste at all, so I feel like the description is deceiving.
English Teatime from Bigelow Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 10th, 2013
This is one of those teas that I get for free at my office, so I can't complain about the price! There isn't much outstanding in its flavor or smell, so it's pretty basic. I think this tea is a decent bagged black tea, and don't mind having it provided for me.

This is one of the most complex and unusual teas I've ever tried -- I loved it!
I was especially surprised by this tea's taste, since I'm accustomed to my green teas being subtly flavored. The taste was an unexpected blend of cooked vegetables and toasty tones, reminding me of asparagus paired with pea soup,,, whic...
English Breakfast from Choice Organic Teas
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Sep. 9th, 2013
While this wasn't my favorite bagged version of this tea, Choice put forth a decent English Breakfast. I think it could compete with Bigelow and Twinings as an everyday black tea. I'm giving Choice a few extra stars for being organic, which is always a big plus in my book!

I really liked this tea.... it was inexpensive and tasty -- right up my alley! I enjoyed its full and rich flavor and thought it was a good, strong, black tea. I'm happy to call this my 100th tea on the site! :)

I'm happy to say that this was the first tea I've tried from Sikkim, India -- simple and dark, I thought this tea was quite tasty. I didn't notice fruity or floral tones, it was a little astringent.

I thought this tea was really good, it was definitely higher quality than most Darjeelings I've had. The description fits it to a 'T' minus the malty taste -- mellow and sweet. I liked it overall and thought it was much better than other teas I've had... while I didn't have an initial "wow" moment because of personal ...

It's been a long time since I've had a Dragon Well. I thought this was a good sample, yummy and mellow, and nice to relax with at lunch... albeit a little pricey for everyday. It reminded me a little of pea soup, in a good way mind you. I didn't taste chestnut hints, as the description suggestions, but I'm not disap...

This tea had a nice roasty and dark taste. I liked it's strength, not too strong and not too mellow. I thought this tea was good. I haven't had many other puerh teas to compare it with!

Oh my gosh, I loved this tea! This is on my list of next tea purchases, alongside barley tea. I was really surprised how much this tea reminded me of barely tea, scent-wise, and I enjoyed it's dark roasty tones. Its quality was beyond what I usually expect from a tea bag.

I thought this tea was simple and tasty. The scent was unlike any other green tea I've had! It had an unexpected berrylike aroma, reminding me of berry body creams I've used. While I really liked this tea and am a big fan of Arbor teas, I'll stick with other greens that I've tried from them, mainly because I'm not a...

Now this was more my type of green tea! While not my favorite, I thought it was much better than the last Teavivre green I had, Nonpareil Te Gong Huang Shan Mao Feng.
Brewing a light green color, this tea was smooth and subtly flavored. I thought it tasted great both as a hot and cold tea.

While I hate to review one of Teavivre's teas so poorly since I'm usually a big fan, this particular tea was not for me! This tea didn't have much of a smell or a taste. I brewed it a couple of times, with different temperatures and steeping lengths, each time it was the same, tasting more like hot water than tea to ...

I thought this tea was okay. Nothing too crazy.
It was a bitter hot and less so as it cooled off, so I'd be more inclined to make iced tea out of it. There wasn't much of a smell, which I feel is pretty typical for most English Breakfasts I've had anyway.
I'll stick with other brands by Ahmad -- some of their lo...

I thought this tea was superb! I brewed it for a short amount of time and have no complaints -- no bitter aftertaste, subtle flavor, silky smooth texture -- this tea was great for sipping and relaxing with at lunch. It was even good to drink when cool. I look forward to having this again!

I've liked most of the products Arbor Teas offers, so I was little bit disappointed with this one.
Smells mean a lot to me and this tea didn't deliver. It smelled smokey, which I normally like, but this was a little too much like an ash tray. The smell is really the only thing I found disagreeable about this tea, a...
Ureshino Tama Ryokucha from Wegmans
Style: Tamaryokucha (Guricha) – Region: Saga, Japan63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

I haven't had much Guricha so I can't compare this tea -- overall I thought it was good.
I liked this tea warm -- it was smooth and had a subtle flavor.
My only qualm was that it tasted a little burnt and strong when it got cold -- blech! I wouldn't recommend this for an iced tea.

Honestly, I don't think this tea is all that bad. It's the first type I've ever had, and while it isn't a fancy and rare loose-leaf brand it's not terrible. It actually tastes similar to a lot of fancier and pricier teas that I've had -- why pay more if you're looking for a basic black?
The tea itself is average, ...

I thought this tea was exquisite and would drink it again! The flavor was smooth and rich with no bitter aftertaste -- excellent quality in my book. It had a peculiar taste for an oolong, to me it seemed to have a more complex flavor than others that I've tried. I have my own personal hangup with the price, as it do...

This tea wasn't as strong as I expected, considering that it's an Irish Breakfast. Then again I've never been one to think that Irish Breakfast is strong, I've had stronger Assams. I thought this tea was good, but I was expecting it to be a little stronger since it's Irish Breakfast. Surprisingly, if you are looking for a strong brew of tea from Wegmans, I'd recommend the Organic Assam over this.

The flavor of this tea was a bit smokey and burnt for my taste, but I liked the tea overall. I was especially impressed at how strong the tea was from a small amount of leaf. The price was also extremely reasonable.

I thought this tea was good for a typical English Breakfast, nothing outstanding. It wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be given that it is loose-leaf tea, but I did enjoy the roasted smell and the heaviness of its consistency. I'd drink it again, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I was craving coffee the day that I had it and felt like it was a suitable replacement! It smelled and tasted roasted, and I felt like it was a little thicker than your average tea - especially surprising for a green. Overall I really enjoyed this tea and would have it again, especially if coffee is not in sight!

As usual, I was pleased with this sample from Arbor Teas! I really appreciated the burnt and smokey smell of the brewed leaf and enjoyed the flavor, which I found to be smoother and richer than most oolongs - I usually expect a more subtle cup. Overall, I liked this tea and would recommend it to others.
