Barooti Assam (Broken Leaf with Golden Tips) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Assam – Region: Assam, India77 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 24th, 2013
I was really impressed by the strength of this tea, especially since I was craving a coffee and given this as a substitute (no coffee on hand today!). While it wasn't as meaty as coffee, I found the brew to have a strong dark flavor that was nearly just as good. As usual, I'm equally impressed by the reasonable price...

I thought this tea was pretty good, it wasn't terribly outstanding, but it satisfied my craving for a basic black, and the price seemed reasonable. With the combined price and quality, I feel like this tea could compete and overthrow my regular bagged blacks any day. I would buy it again if there were a Wegmans close...

I thought this tea was really good. The smell of the dried leaf was fresh and grassy, and the taste of the tea was equally fresh. At first, I didn't think it was terribly outstanding, until I had a second cup- I was impressed that the second brew was just as good as the first!

I thought it would be fitting to have my first cup of PG Tips since it was available at a friend's house, and this was the one. My price rating might be a little skewed since I got my bag for free, but from some brief online research I feel like PG Tips is a little overpriced for what it is. Despite the price, I like...

I thought this tea was pretty good, not anything spectacular, but definitely a good, regular, black. I thought the dried leaf smelled better than the brewed tea. Overall, I thought it was a good buy for its price. I'm looking forward to trying what else Wegmans has to offer.

I wasn't impressed with this tea and found it quite bitter, which was a bit disappointing since I like so many other teas by Arbor Teas! I don't have any complaints about their pricing or the scent of the tea, which was average, but I didn't like the taste at all. After finding the flavor to be too sour and strong on...

I was happy with this tea, and especially its reasonable price! To me, it had a subtle taste, like most oolongs, and I was happy with how smooth and soothing it was to drink. I'm hoping to buy some the next time I go to my local Asian supermarket :)

I thought this tea was good for a basic black. The flavor wasn't as complex as the description suggests. I noticed more of a smokey taste than floral and fruity undertones. I enjoyed this tea overall, but I probably wouldn't buy it on my own for its listed price.

Yet another outstanding black tea from Arbor Teas! My initial reaction of "this is another good black tea, not the best, but really good" changed about 3/4 of the way through my cup! While this tea didn't pack as much of a punch as the Assam Black, I loved the subtle and smooth flavor and fully appreciated the velvet...

This has to be one of the best black teas that I've had so far! The tea has a smokey smell and the flavor is rich and complex, much more so than an average black tea - I look forward to having it again soon :)

Firstly, who knew that Wedgwood made tea? Secondly, while I normally like black teas, this was much too strong! It was strong, a little bitter, and tasted too burnt for my liking. While I appreciate other Wedgwood products, I probably won't be having this again.

I just tried the bagged version of this tea and was pretty pleased. Overall I liked the tea and thought that it was refreshing, like a typical green. I thought this tea was a good basic black, and it is pretty inexpensive too! I drank it straight without cream or sugar and didn't find it too strong (although I do like a good cup of strong black tea so my tastes may be different from some!). I'd be more apt to keep this tea around as a basic black over Lipton, and ...

I liked this tea a lot. It had a subtle flavor and was really smooth. I thought the tea smelled a little like cooked greens, which I like, so I had no problem with that. I probably wouldn't pay the price, but I can see why others would, it's a high quality tea.

This was a simple black tea, no bells and whistles. I thought it was good, but I didn't find the flavor as robust as the description suggests. I'd recommend another brand, such as Bigelow, for a more full-bodied, bagged, English Breakfast tea.
