Earl Grey Black Tea from Stash Tea

I hate Earl Grey - and this one, in particular, is loaded with a bitter bergamot flavor. It's just not my bag, baby!

This is a preliminary rating based on the smell alone - I just got a sample of this loose-leaf tea and can't wait to brew some up. I bet it'd be great in the winter as you can smell a sweet maple scent and as Sylvia mentioned a faint whisper of smoky wood. It looks appealing visually as well. I will update this revi...

For a decaf version this is great! Very sagey - a bit moreso than the standard version with fruity berry notes. A great tea hot or over ice.

This is my go-to, reasonably priced, bagged Earl Grey and has been since my undergraduate years at college. Our little coffee shop on campus supplied Bigelow brand and that was where I was introduced to this tea.
I absolutely love the smell of the Bergamot from this tea and have yet to find any other bagged version...
Dragon Pearl Jasmine from Harney and Sons
Style: Jasmine Pearls – Region: Fujian, China87 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5

Delicious but expensive. Smells so great in the tin. Floral notes (Duh - it's a jasmine!) and a a pale-greenish brew brew upon a short steep. Do not over-steep this one.
I enjoy watching the little balls unfurl as the water hits them. I have never tried this on ice - but I imagine it'd be good. Oh, I love Jasmin...

Cheap!!!! And convenient. Not a holy grail but I love Jasmine teas and this one is good in a pinch. (Bagged.)

Really, Alex? I love this one - maybe I am just a noob - but I used to get this at a local coffee shop in the morning and I just LOVED it. Mild green flavor and a huge bag size. I also like the Green Tea Tropical (Which is more like straight fruit).

A very tasty tea with fruity notes and smells great in the bag and while steeping. No sweetener needed. A fave for sure! (But a bit pricey). NOT grassy - very fruity and not so green.

I've liked all the loose Ahmad teas that I've tried and I was surprised to find that I didn't care for one of their bagged versions!
The Bergamot smell is one of my favorite things about Earl Grey and this tea lacked it. The taste of the tea was a little too bitter and strong for me as well. I'll stick with Bige...

I live this but not as much as some of the otther ROT fruit-teas. I love the green grassy notes and smooth drinkability especially over ice. Smells fruity, berry-like and sweet. Fun to try.

I liked Tealuxe's teas when I went to the now closed location in NYC. Lady Londonderry was a black tea with a hint of berry flavor. Enjoyable and smells great before and during brewing.

Yech! I am not an Earl Grey fan to begin with and this one not only has synthetic Bergamot notes (Think limonene from a lab!) it is also decaf and not worth drinking. Sorry, Twinings, but this bagged tea is not my fave at all! Stash makes a better one - but I hate that, too.
Earl Grey - it's just not my bag!
Black Currant from Tea Forte
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
May. 13th, 2013
Super expensive (as all the cutesy-packaged Tea Forte teas are!) but so deliciously fruity and easy to drink. (You can get 2 cups easily out of a bag - so keep that in mind. Needs no sweetener. Very good for first-time tea drinkers and the adorable packaging (and high price) make it a suitable hostess gift. Fun. (S...

I love Jasmine - but this Silver needle is not quite as good as Ito-En's. Adagio teas I usually get online and they are pricey plus you have to pay for shipping. That said, I love this tea - and its floral whisper-soft grassy green-ness. Best served hot (IMHO) and without sweeteners or embellishments.

I love Jasmine-style teas and Ito En's is no exception. Brewed loose-leaf in a diffuser or tea ball is best served hot - not sweetener or lemon required. Grassy, floral and light bodies. Easy to drink. Harder to find outside of NYC and LA.(and of course, Japan).

I wasn't terribly impressed with this one.
The base tea tasted a little bland and generic to me. Hampstead does not share where the base tea is from, but it tastes more like Ceylon tea than anything else. The bergamot presence is light. Some slightly odd tones in the aroma, including black pepper and something su...

Love 2 Leaves & A Bud - and the cute bags/packaging. Even better? The tea itself is pretty darned good - especially the Jasmine Petal (green based). Grassy and floral and not bitter. Easy to drink - and great hot or on ice - with or without a bit of honey or lemon. Good sippin'!

I suppose in general this is my "go-to" Tea brand. It is extremely reliable in terms of flavor and price. I find that Twinning bagged tea lacks the strength of flavor I began to crave after drinking Bigelow on a regular basis. Of course, I take my Bigelow Earl Grey with two tea bags, and a capful of lemon juice/one wed...

A very peppery, spicy chai that with a surprisingly mild base tea.
The leaf is very finely broken, which made me afraid that this one would be too strong, but I find the black tea used as the base is very mild. I don't know where it's from, but it reminds me of some of the milder high-grown Ceylon teas.

Not a fan of Bieglow Teas - but my old company had them and Lemon Lift was better (to me) than the dreaded "Constant Comment" - an orange/spice. Just OK. Not a fan. I actually like the I love Lemon herbal tea (which is a tisane and contains no tea at all) a bit better when I have a cold. This is a step about Lipton...
