Awake English Breakfast Filterbag from Tazo Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

This is my usual choice on work days mornings. I go to Starbucks, quick and easy. It has good flavor and will help open your eyes on an early morning.
Full leaf, so it has decent taste. Convenient.
Keemun Full Leaf Tea from Foojoy
Style: Keemun – Region: Anhui, China83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Aug. 23rd, 2013
An inexpensive Keemun of very good quality for its price. Very smooth and mellow, but rich. Classic Keemun flavor and aroma: winey and slightly smoky.
Dry leaf is fine and pretty broken, with a mild but very pleasing aroma.
Upon brewing I notice a very gentle smokiness, and the characteristic wine-like quality ...
Temi SFTGFOP1 First Flush Black Tea from Republic of Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Sikkim, India73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Aug. 19th, 2013
I'm happy to say that this was the first tea I've tried from Sikkim, India -- simple and dark, I thought this tea was quite tasty. I didn't notice fruity or floral tones, it was a little astringent.

I thought this tea was really good, it was definitely higher quality than most Darjeelings I've had. The description fits it to a 'T' minus the malty taste -- mellow and sweet. I liked it overall and thought it was much better than other teas I've had... while I didn't have an initial "wow" moment because of personal ...

The tea fell short for me. Aroma was great, but taste was flat. I steeped for 8 minutes to try and bring out full flavor, but no luck. I like a more full bodied tea, and one that I can feel pleasantly leeching into every nook and cranny. This tea didnt do that. Extremely light, and probably low in caffeine content as w...

The aroma is lovely, you can certainly tell it is an Assam from the first sniff! Rich and malty. I was however, surprised by the amount of dust in the tea wrapper and then in my tea, I have not run into that before with this company's Assam.
The taste is quite good! Malty, rich, subtly sweet, and not at all bitter....

Style: Keemun – Region: Qimen, Anhui, China90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

I really like this tea. It has a deep, smoky aroma that I like. The flavor seems kind of like lapsang souchong, but without the heavy sweetness. It has a crisp quality. I added cream and sugar.

When I first tried this tea, I was quite young, and hated it. I can only assume that my young palate had not grown accustomed to strong black teas, because now I find it much more agreeable.
The flavor and aroma are both fairly good, much better than the English Breakfast tea. Definitely malty, and it takes very w...
English Breakfast from Twinings
Style: English Breakfast – Region: ?????40 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 15th, 2013
This tea is nothing special. It's a pity, you'd expect Twinings to get at least a basic English Breakfast tea right, but sadly this one falls short. Not only is the flavor lacking, but it's easily overbrewed, and tends towards the bitter side.
If one manages to properly brew it, there's still nothing to write ho...

An unusual artisan tea, smooth, creamy and flavorful. The aroma is out of this world, and you will be amazed that all the flavor comes only from the tea itself, and the careful way it was manipulated during the oxidizing and drying process. Best brewed Chinese Gong Fu style, and yet still amazing when just brewed in a ...

It's been a really long time, and I haven't rated this tea yet, so I decided to finally do it.
I think Lipton gets a bad rap...it's the brunt of all the tea enthusiasts jokes, which makes sense because it's the #1 brand in the US (and some other parts of the world as well) by sales volume and presence. And I really...
China Breakfast from Rishi Tea
Style: Yunnan Red – Region: Yunnan, China77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

This is a very wonderful tea, reasonably priced (about $4 per ounce on their website at the date of this review) and having appeal to both tea newbies and veterans alike. I like it better brewed for slightly shorter times than those recommended by Rishi, which seems to eliminate any bitterness and enhance the complexit...

I like this tea. It has a weird kind of aroma, but it's good overall. The flavor is strong, crisp, and not too bitter. I added cream and sugar. It's interesting that on the package it recommends adding cream and not milk, because I always add cream to my tea.

A delightful tea of top quality, also somewhat different and unusual, darker in character than Darjeeling first flush.
Dry leaf has a light, fruity smell which is almost slightly more reminiscent of some very high grades of Chinese tea than like any Indian teas I've tried.
I found this tea drastically changed cha...

A wonderful, nuanced black tea with a mild flavor, and complex aroma, also creating nice sensations on the palate.
Dry leaf has a mild but very pleasing aroma suggestive of sweet dried fruit, but fresher and lighter smelling.
Upon brewing, this produces a very dark brown cup with a mellow aroma, yet exquisite fla...
British Breakfast from Republic of Tea

Jul. 29th, 2013
I was actually quite interested to finally sample this tea, as Republic of Tea seems more oriented towards blends and flavored teas, but I tend to like pure teas best.
I found this to be an average black tea in tea bags. Nothing really jumped out at me. There were fewer objectionable qualities (less harshness) tha...
Puttabong (Organic, Darjeeling First Flush 2013) from Happy Earth Tea
Style: Darjeeling First Flush – Region: Darjeeling, India97 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jul. 24th, 2013
This was my favorite among the four first flush teas I sampled from Happy Earth Tea, and among my all-time favorite Darjeeling teas.
Dry leaf has a very strong and complex aroma, with fruity, nutty, and herbaceous tones.
Upon brewing, the cup becomes beautifully fragrant. The fruitiness is deeper, a little less ...
Yatawatte Single Region from Dilmah
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

Dilmah has a great line of Ceylon/Sri Lanka teas that really let you taste the different growing conditions available on this small island nation. They have single region teas (like this low grown Yata Watte) and single estate teas (like Dombagastalawa Single Estate) that really open your eyes to the variety of flavor...

I am rating the bottled Lipton Iced tea. Far too much sweetener makes it undrinkable. Yech! Bitter, black-tasting and over-sweetened and caloric. Owned by PepsiCo.

Yet another very high-quality first flush Darjeeling from Happy Earth Tea. All of their teas that I have sampled have been similar, and all have been excellent.
Dry leaf smells strongly nutty and of caramel, only slightly fruity and floral.
Upon drinking, I found this to be the most brisk and bitter of the four ...

This is undoubtedly the best Darjeeling I've tried in tea bags yet, and it's surprisingly affordable. It's a broken-leaf tea, but I think it surpasses even "full-leaf" teas in pyramid sachets, like those from Two Leaves Tea or Novus Tea.
Very green character the greenest I've ever had from a tea bag. Is this pure ...

I must thank Angel at Teavivre for this experience. My tea arrived today and I have been ogling the whole box since.

I've had this tea quite a few times and it is surprisingly good for what it is, as well as being surprisingly versatile.
