English Classic Cold Brewed Iced Tea from Twinings

When I was in England... the English gifted me with this tea. They said to me, "Here. Our tea of England. Drink it, and become English." And that I did... The truth is, this tea carries some spiritual essence of England within it's leaves. I don't know if England intentionally grows spiritual tree's in their lands, but...

(Retired) An interesting tea that is good with just a little sugar and it can take milk as well. Lemon is doable too but not the best. There is a light prunelike sweetness that comes thru in the moderately robust flavor.

A very strong black tea that didn't have much going for it other than its strength.
Served at the Gander's Family Restaurant in Luna Pier, MI (super cheap diner with pretty good but very basic diner food! I recommend it more than this tea!) Tea isn't usually the strong suits of these types of restaurants, but I do t...

Like the others who reviewed this, I was surprised that it tastes nothing like the regular Twinings English Breakfast. I remember that tasting more woody and malty, with a bit of the usual Assam dried fruit note. This has some slightly tangy tropical fruit notes that make me think of Keemun, but it also has this weird ...

The standard tea bags are wrapped in paper, so if they're not put into an airtight container, they'll probably start to go stale before the box of 100 is finished. The dry tea looks like a blend of orthodox and CTC produced teas and smells smoky, malty and a bit like fresh straw.
The brewed tea is disappointing. The...

Tried this at the restaurant in Manning Park, B.C. while on vacation. It's OK. Not a lot of maltiness to it, or bitterness or astringency. But not bad at all, very smooth.

This tea is a full bodied tea with an excellent taste. Not as cheap as some and not as expensive as others especially when stocks of it got lower and lower.
I have drunk this tea since I was little and once it was no longer in the shops I was able to get it direct from Bell Tea, however it seems like they have run ...

Smells and tastes like a firepit. That's all I need to say. But that ain't all I'm sayin'... So, this tea, if you've got a rough demeanor, is just for you. Me and my few biker friends will enjoy this stuff now and then. We all may sit by the firepit after a ride, smoke some cigars, and drink some burnt wood tea ("BWT" ...

One of my favorite Twinings tea's! They really make some good stuff!! I've reviewed a lot of their tea's!!! So, let's get down to business: This is a good tea. Very Irish-esque, very breakfast-esque - in my opinion!! I love this tea with my whole heart. It's good with milk - maybe good with sweetener, though I'd only r...

I like this tea! It's so good with a good helpin' of milk!! A good ole helpin'!!! And a little sugar. Tasty breakfast. Provided you're eating food with your breakfast. Overall, I'd say it's a distinctive black tea. Probably one of the most likeable tea's I can think of!

It's good! But weaker (not my preference) than the English Breakfast. Less flavor, same extent of bitterness - it's just not memorable to me.

The aroma is faint, but malty. The tea tastes thin and a bit cooked. Not offensive, just not much going on. If I take a big sip, there's a warm bitterness on the sides of the tongue that's nice.
As the tea cools down, it's more astringent and bitter than before. I'm trying to taste what might be in the blend and it ...

This was my introduction to black tea, so it was interesting to try it again recently. It has that specific malty, woody aroma that makes me think "English Breakfast". The flavor is rather bland compared to everything I've been drinking lately, but I did notice a mild dried fruit note that I never picked up when I used...

I tried this in another attempt to find a decaffeinated black tea that tastes like tea.
The dry tea bag out of the foil wrapper smells vaguely spicy if I hold it to my nose, but there's not much there. Adding water brings out a small bit of aroma, but nothing that really smells like tea. It smells lightly earthy and...

I couldn't tell if English Tradition was an English Breakfast an English Afternoon, so against such traditions, I drank it in the evening in America.
Of the three black teas from Farmer Brothers (FB) that I have reviewed, all of which were surprisingly tolerable, this product has been the best across the board. A...

It smells sort of like an English Breakfast blend, I guess. Sort of woody. Far from the most aromatic tea. It tastes like cardboard, very thin, and it's extremely astringent even when brewed for only 3 minutes. The only use for this I can think of is cold brewing it and adding lemonade. It's terrible on its own, and th...

Trying this tea 24 hours after "English Breakfast" and under nearly identical circumstances, I had a hard time telling the difference between the two. This one left less of an aftertaste (strength, and for sure duration) but was a little more bitter. Since the aftertaste of the other tea wasn't bad, the "more bitter"...

Pulled from a hotel breakfast stash (lower-case, not the tea brand), I brought a bag home to chug in my usual well water. Dry-bag and in-cup aroma were feeble, as has been my experience with most Bigelow teas (except Constant Comment, a major favorite). The brew got dark fairly quickly, tasting pleasant enough, rather...

Compared to another tea at twice the price same brew time, same water amount and same cup style. Was hard to tell them apart. For the price and ease of purchase worth the money for an everyday cup.

The golden tag accompanying the bag says, "Over 300 years of experience." To adapt something an old professor of mine used to say: "Experience is only an advantage if you learn and improve. If you stay the same, you might as well have one year of experience repeated 300 times." Given the unimpressive character of t...

With few exceptions (see my review of Ginger Turmeric herbal...blecch), TJs consistently offers a surprisingly high-quality selection of store-brand teas—better so far in my experience than any other grocery chain, and than a nontrivial number of name-brand bagged teas. This one fits the bill. Of course it's not to...

This tea is really quite impressive. Whether dry or brewed, its aroma and its flavor both remind me of smokiness from some sort of aromatic wood used for barbecuing -- though it is not "barbecue" flavored. Perhaps it reminds me of camping mixed with a cigarette smoke that somehow isn't gross?
The smokiness is very p...

This tea isn't super great, but it's definitely not the worst thing. The price is pretty good, $1.20 for a box of 20 bags. However, there are teas that are the same price but are much better quality.

The dry teabags have some tea aroma, which is a step up from many decaffeinated black teas. It's earthy, but not strong and reminds me of stale cocoa.
The brewing tea smells almost roasted and smoky and again reminds me of weak cocoa. There's also a hint of cooking noodles. The aroma is OK, but it still isn't quite ...
