English Breakfast Black Tea from Rituals

A humble English Breakfast tea bag, above average for a flat tea bag, pleasantly smooth and drinkable.

This brand has an almost legendary status on our website...not that a lot of people review it, almost none do, but that we get a ton of messages through our contact form, of people asking where you can buy it. And...

Dec. 21st, 2016

The dry leaf has a pleasant aroma that is much more complex than typical for CTC teas...there are notes of spice that remind me of Christmas as a child.

Produces a very rich and aromatic cup. Before sipping, the aroma suggests sweetness, being creamy and almost candy-like. But upon sipping, pleasantly bitter. Ful...

My daughter originally brought a tin of this tea back from her visit to Ireland, as a gift to my wife, and my wife was instantly hooked. She just craves this tea. After trying some I see why. It's her favorite Irish tea, and mine as well (with Murchie's being a close second). In fact, I'd drink more than the few ba...

Dec. 5th, 2016

When I scanned the product bar code into My Fitness Pal, the MFP app returned Stash Organic breakfast blend black tea.

If it is Target's reselling/repackaging of the Stash's tea, it is a great deal at $3.49 for 20 bags.

It tastes very good.

It's better than some of their flavored teas (like the dreaded "Constant Comment - that stuff is like potpourri), and OK in a pinch at the office (which is where I get this stuff). I would never spend money on Bigelow teas.

Generally this tea is a wonderful standby, meaning if you have need a quick pick-me-up and there's nothing else at the 7-11 or fast food joint, then go for it.

After reading about Lipton pesticide use problems in GreenPeace report Trouble Brewing, I don't think I'll be buying Lipton Yellow Label.

Before I read t...

This is beyond GROSS!!

It was on offer in my local supermarket and being one to try various teas and being from a tea growing part of the world, I decided this was one was worthy of a try. Lovely packaging as usual from Twinings swayed me further towards buying it.

Initially the aroma is revolting. If you have b...

I am new to tea. I am looking for good black breakfast tea. Being American, most of us drink coffee. I cannot drink coffee anymore, so I have switched to tea. Not many brands in my area. I bought Lipton because I recognized the brand. To me, it's ok. I put a touch of honey and cream in. Can anyone recommend a great bre...

A full flavor breakfast tea to wake you up in the morning. Best flavor if steeped long enough, the black tea flavor really shines through but much stronger then English Breakfast. Even when added to milk the taste dosent suffer.

I recently have started drinking tea a few months ago. This blend is my favorite, smooth, flavorful, and I drink it daily. I boil water, pour over teabag and let steep 3-4 mins. I usually don't add anything but when I do ill toss in a sugar cube. Im still a newbie but compared to other store bought brands it isn't that...

This is a medium strength blend with a sharp taste that reminds me of tobacco. It definitely likes some milk and sugar in it. However, I try to avoid adding sugar to anything, so I also mostly avoid this tea blend.

I am 67 years old and have been drinking tea since I was about 4 years old. Lipton Tea is my "go to" brand when I want a good, satisfying cup of tea. I have tried other brands but none has ever compared to Lipton for an everyday part of my diet. If you aren't really a tea drinker, how can you rate tea? Not every be...

This is my everyday black tea, as it's a few hundred times better than Lipton and still affordable. It's okay on its own, but I usually add cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, sugar and milk to make my own chai. I don't find it to be too strong or astringent, but I don't steep it for very long and I never go for a seco...

I have no issues with this STRONG black tea - that stands up well to sweetener and/or milk (I never put milk nor cream in tea but if you do this is a good one). Traditional and smooth-tasting and brews up DARK in seconds. You can easily get 2-3 infusions from a bag. Inexpensive and available at supermarkets. Not a ...

Can't say I know this tea all that well, but I have good memories of it each time I drink it. It's not a great tea, but it is a best option at many cafés and kioskes in Paris.

Served with whole milk it can be quite pleasant. It's a smooth tea wich has a suprisingly low bitterness. To my memory it is slightly astrin...

I didn't give it really high numbers, but I do like this tea as a kind of "old standby," even though it is in fact a fairly new staple for me. And, to be honest, it probably won't be a staple once the box runs out.

As a coffee drinker most of my life and a sometimes obsessive tea drinker only in the last 10 years o...

This might be my favorite of all the lower-priced black teas I've tried thus far. Not bitter, doesn't seem to develop that soapy taste found in a number of other black teas, and delivers a good kick.

Better than other black teas of the same price bracket, with a richer and more complex flavor. I haven't experienced the same issue with bitterness at the bottom of the cup that others have reported.

Unfortunately the smell of the leaves was overpowered by my Jayne tea, but I could make out a hint of clove. As with most black teas it’s bitter without sugar, but when you add sugar it really brings out the spice. It has a very clove-y taste which is really great as it pairs really well with the sweetness.

I should note off the bat that I actually brewed this from a K-cup. I'm not sure that would have any effect on the end product beyond decreasing the steeping time, though--and since I steep my teabags until I'm done with the tea, I assume this experience was closer to that of the average person than my own standard exp...

Ah, Lipton: the tea ubiquitous within the fine dining institutions of my college campus. I tend to drink this when I'm in need of something strongly caffeinated but I just can't tolerate the thought of choking down more instant coffee crystals dissolved in lukewarm tap water from the bathroom down the hall from my lab....

Actually one of Twining's better blends. A bit bolder than their English breakfast tea, with more pronounced malty flavor. A nice mix of Ceylon and Assam teas. Stands up to sugar and cream if you go that way, and just fine on it's own. Biggest disappointment is the lack of aroma. Makes a pretty decent cup of tea.
