Baker Street Afternoon Blend from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Russian Caravan – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

One of my favorite blends from Upton. The light smokiness in aroma and flavor adds character yet does not overpower the whole leaf base. There is a light sweetness (possibly from the Darjeeling), a light woodiness, and just a touch of malt -- making for an interesting and satisfying brew.
I understand that it makes ...
Bond Street English Breakfast Blend from Upton Tea Imports
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend70 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

A very robust blend with deep flavor and light aroma. Not a full leaf blend, but rather fine chop makes this brew quick. Longer steep brings a bitterness that is unpleasant, so just 3 minutes is recommended.
Dark and brisk - just what an English Breakfast Blend should be.

Rich taste; makes strong cup of tea the way I like it. Reminds me of Irish tea, but much more affordable.

This tea was a bit bitter and too strong for my taste. Regarding Irish bagged teas, I guess I'm a Barry's fan. I suppose I'm in the minority.

PG Tips is really meant to be drunk British style, with an ample dose of milk and some sugar. And if you just walked in from a long walk in a cold December rain, that helps. If you want to drink black tea straight, I would not recommend this tea. But if you want a tea that is strong enough to stand up to a milk and sug...

Very good tea, in the Irish style, with a bit of milk. Personally, I prefer good bagged tea, as the loose leaf is too weak for my taste. Barry's has excellent flavor and a good kick. Lifts the spirits and satisfies the palate. I can recommend a cup without hesitation.

As far as I know, this is the only blend of Assam and Darjeeling. The result is an outstanding flavor, and a wonderful tea, in the Irish style, with a bit of milk.

This is my favourite tea from David's tea. It's very simple yet does the job. It's priced to be the kind of tea you can drink 5 times a day.

I liked this one - not too tannic but a little bit of a bite and a caffeinated buzz for the morning. One bag easily made 2 dark infusions. No issues here.
That said - the Ahmad Darjeeling is much better - but i love Darjeeling in the first place.

This is my definition of tea. It is smooth, not bitter and has a wonderful aroma. When you see pictures of people having tea in England, it's this kind of tea.

Because I love both Numi teas and Breakfast Blends, I had high hopes for this one, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. Glad I didn't purchase a whole box of this, and opted for a sampler instead.
Not enough maltiness or depth. Edgy astringent notes were able to be rounded off with milk and a hint of hone...

I am very fond of Numi Teas. I also really enjoy breakfast blends. I have to say that this was Ok. I have being drinking many teas over the last few weeks/holiday season. So, you will see a lot of logs at once, I was keeping notes. With that, I will say that I think that the best breakfast blends seem to come from...

A pleasant and drinkable Irish Breakfast, true to the style: very strong. Nothing amazing, but decent quality for a tea bag at the low end of the price range. A sample from the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival.
A very strong tea, and true to the Irish Breakfast style, but I thought it was just a tad harsh. Co...
Russian Caravan from Murchie's Tea & Coffee Ltd
Style: Russian Caravan – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Dec. 26th, 2013
This Russian Caravan is a good choice for people who want smokiness without the full intensity of a Lapsang. It's a good winter morning tea. However, its lack of subtlety caused me to tire of it, and I've taken a break from it for about a year. But it's worth coming back to.

Served at the Lancaster County Coffee Roasters stand at the Lancaster Central Market. I had been wanting to try this company's teas for some time, and I am impressed.

Devonshire English Breakfast Black Tea from Celestial Seasonings

I wasn't expecting much...but has some aroma. Tones of malt and wood. Yes, it's not loose tea, and I even think this is pretty far behind most of Celestial Seasonings' herbal blends.
Considerably smoother than Lipton, but still full-bodied. I'd appreciate a little more up-front bite--perhaps a longer steeping wou...

Short summary: ugh, terrible, among the worst teas I've ever sampled. I am giving it the lowest possible rating.

English Breakfast Decaf from Red Rose Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 16th, 2013
The tea bag has no smell, contrasting with the tea bag of the caffeinated Red Rose English Breakfast, which has a pleasant malty smell. I steeped for 5 minutes, which is what I prefer for the caffeinated version--even that tea is on the weak side for my tastes.
Upon brewing, the cup doesn't have much of a smell, bu...
Basic Black from FashionistaTea

This tea brews really quickly. The first time I tried it I brewed it too long - 4-5 minutes. I tried 3 minutes and it turned out well. I like it. It's interesting. Kind of fruity, but not too much. It has a rich, crisp flavor. It's a little more bitter than I would ideally like. I added cream and sugar.

The third and last of my recent batch of free samples from Twinings; thank you again!
The tea bag is more aromatic than most. Brews a rich, strong cup, but the cup is not very aromatic.

Bolder Breakfast from The Tea Spot

The aroma is very rich, rich and chocolaty with notes of malt and earthiness. It reminds me of tea mixed with milk chocolate. Once brewed there is more of a 'tea' aroma than chocolate. The liquid is richy earthy and ties the pu erh in nicely with the black tea and chocolate.
The taste is sweet and very robust. The ...
