Lu Shan Yun Wu Green Tea from TeaVivre

Extremely satisfying tea! I really like this one. The dry leaf had a wonderful, unique aroma that made me very excited to try the tea. Once brewed, it has a light herbal/spicy flavor that I find extremely pleasing and that is well balanced with the tea flavor. It's a comforting drink that I could imagine myself drinkin...

Very good tea. It has a slightly nutty, very vegetal scent and taste, which I love. The dry aroma is pungent and pleasant in the same way as the brewed tea. It tastes somewhere between a gyokuro and China Green Tips, by Tazo (if I'm remembering those flavors accurately). It hasn't caused me any throat irritation the wa...

Very solid, smooth tea! The vegetal scent and flavor reminded me of tea in Japan, and I appreciated the bright green tint of the water. I've enjoyed a few cups of it already, but want to brew it again tomorrow, then give a fuller review once I've really had time to sit down and enjoy it.
Update: A nice sitting down,...
Japanese Sencha from Bare Tea
Style: Sencha – Region: Japan87 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5

Excellent sencha! This tastes exactly like the tea I had while living in Japan. Pleasantly grassy, smoothly savory with a light sweetness. Goes great with food too. Simply great tea. Highly recommended!
Each bag has quite a lot of tea in it, so I definitely recommend both a relatively short steep time and repeated i...
Dragon Well Tea from Ten Ren Tea
Style: Dragon Well (Long Jing) – Region: China57 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

Not a bad tea, but not as tasty or interesting as the other dragonwell tea I've tried (by Foojoy). After a short time sitting, it brews up to a similar dark yellow/ginger color. There is a light smokiness and sometimes seems to be a hint of bitterness, but said bitterness isn't off putting. You can make a second cup, b...

This is only the second gyokuro tea I've tried. Its flavor is exactly the way I remember Teavana's, making both of these excellent--but Arbor's far less expensive. So glad I was able to try this one!
The flavor is complex, balanced, and delicious. It naturally tastes a bit sweet so that adding any sweetener would be...
Lung Ching (Lungching) Green Tea from Foojoy

This is the first dragon well tea I've tried and, based on my experience, I really must try more. There is an undertone of baked flavor, but I like it and think it compliments the tea well. It adds complexity without becoming dominant.
I brewed this at 175 °F for 3 minutes. Interestingly, the appearance changed not...
Premium Green Tea from Stash Tea

I would agree with others that it's a little grassy and bitter. It's drinkable, but not a favorite. It has a slightly baked aroma that isn't for me. It reminds me a little of teas make with rice. Inside the bag the pieces are very small, like dust.

The scent is very muted, but once you take a sip the flavor is pleasant and of good strength. It's definitely got a vegetal, almost savory feel to it, yet it isn't bitter at all. I like the taste and think it would pair it well with meals. It's quite good on its own, too. I haven't tried too many Chinese teas, but gunp...

Very nice green tea. It has a flavor somewhere between nutty and also fruity, if green tea were a fruit. Naturally sweet enough, it needs no sweetener. You'll want to steep it briefly and drink it somewhat quickly, as the taste can go bitter even after it's done steeping.
I only wish the price was lower.
Royal Tea from Newman's Own Organics

I love that this tea is organic and *extremely* affordable, so I wish I liked it more. It goes bitter far too easily, though. I also wish it listed the style of green tea. However, it's well worth giving a shot to see whether or not you like it. A little sugar helps, but I prefer teas where this isn't necessary.

This is another decaf bagged tea that is neither offensive nor pleasant. It is, in a word, generic.

A nice, simple green tea. The flavor is weaker than I would like, though. The aroma is likewise nice but too weak. I'd love to try a more robust version of this style tea.

The toasted rice flavor is quite strong. Some sips it didn't do much for me, other sips the smoky flavor felt like something I could get used to. I'll be more sure once I've tried a couple more of the bags.

THIS tea. This may be the beginning to solving a mystery.
You see, when I lived in Japan for a year, I would make and enjoy teas just like this. I really love this flavor of green tea. It tastes and especially smells great.
*However*, after almost a year, I realized that certain green teas caused what I'm guessin...
Green Tea (Teabags) from Teatulia

I like the scent of this tea, both in the tea bag and from the tea itself. Without any sweetener added (my preferred method), the taste was a bit too tanniny, I think. The flavor wasn't exactly bitter, but it wasn't particularly pleasant.
When I added a small bit of sugar to the second steep, this notably improved t...

A 3 minute or so steep was good for me with this tea, which brewed to an amber color. It reminds me of teas I drank and enjoyed while living in Japan (though this style is actually from China). The smell, pleasantly "grassy", is muted until your face is in the cup, but very nice. It feels, for me, like a tea of nostalg...
