Butterbeer from 52 Teas
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 14th, 2014
I received this tea as a gift in a swap. The name of the tea, had me sooo excited and I was so grateful to the sender. The aroma of the tea had me wondering, more of a sweet note, that of artificial sweetness. Once I tasted it, it was good and it had a good buttery flavor but that flavor ended with an artificial but...

I loathe Orange & Spice-type teas. The aversion goes back to Celestial Seasonings that I was forced to drink as a child. So, when a local restaurant, gave me a bag of this when I had asked for Jasmine (He said they had "Orange Jasmine" - and Mighty Leaf does make an Orange Jasmine but this is not it.), I drank it - aga...

Numi Aged Earl Grey Assam- Now we're talkin' tea! Hands down, this is my all around absolute favorite tea. The moment you open a packet, the powerful, heady aroma of bergamot saturates the senses. It is noticeably fresh, not highly perfumed like most other offerings, for they use real Bergamot, not "natural flavorin...

This is my first DavidsTea. I received in a tea swap called The 12 Days of Christmas. We had a tea for each day, this was Day#1. The tea itself was fragrant and pleasant to look at. Taste was nice, I only detected the taste of the black tea and pear as well as the artificial flavoring they add and wondered if this ...

The aroma is sweet and spicy, notes of marshmallow, cinnamon, toffee, and malt with a strong note of allspice. Smells a bit like spiced rum. The brewed tea still smells like spiced rum with less marshmallow sweetness. The liquid is much sweeter with strong spicy notes.
The taste sweet and malty with a velvety mouthf...
Kenyan Black Tea with Lemon (Teabags) from Ajiri Tea
Style: Lemon Black Tea – Region: Blend93 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 9th, 2014
I thought this to be a very original blend, top-notch.
Very intense lemon fragrance, holding its own against the base tea. Like most lemon myrtle, there's a deep woody or resinous undertone, making a very complex aroma, combined with the malty but fresh aroma of the Kenyan black tea. The lemon myrtle really holds ...

I'm not a huge fan of orange spice teas, but this is my favorite example of one yet.
This was a classic orange spice tea blend, a lot like Market Spice's Cinnamon Orange, or a more refined variant of Bigelow's Constant Comment. If you like either of those teas, I'd recommend this one.
I wish I had had the opport...

Thanks to E. Alex Gerster for this sample. It was not my cup of tea but was interesting to try!
This tea smells lemony, but not intensely so. The lemon is a bit artificial smelling, more suggestive of lemon lifesavers or other lemon candy than natural lemon-scented herbs or actual lemon fruit. There is a hint of ...
Earl Grey Black Tea from Stash Tea
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

A mild Earl Grey that was sweet in flavor, perfumey in aroma, but overly astringent.
Tea bag smells more lemony / citrusy than most Earl grey, with a hint of spice.
Brews up a surprisingly aromatic cup for a tea bag, with a perfumey smell that suggests sweetness. Rich and full-bodied, somewhat astringent, but no...
Bourbon Vanilla from Kusmi Tea
Style: Vanilla Black Tea – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 27th, 2013
The aroma of this tea is mild with notes of vanilla, oak, and fruit. The steeped leaves lose the aroma of vanilla (it is all in the liquid) with notes of fruit and malt.
The taste is fairly mild and subtly sweet and creamy. Not an outstanding tea but a pleasant dessert or morning sip.
Cardamon Tea (Cardamom Tea, Loose) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

One of my very favorite teas, robust, hearty, with a subtle cardamom flavor that is not overwhelming. I like this tea brewed strong in the morning but occasionally drink it in mid-afternoon as well. It makes a nice gift as well, since many people haven't tried it.
Lemon Twist from Twinings

When I was a teenager, black tea with a slice of lemon was what you were served in most restaurants around Miami when you asked for a cup of tea. Nothing fancy, usually not anything very memorable, and usually some off name brand that the restaurant bought at a deep discount. It was more of something just to accompany ...

The aroma is very sweet and fruity, specifically exotic fruits. The citrus tones make me think of dragonfruit. Once brewed the leaves become malty and the sweetness becomes more of a passion fruit aroma. There is also a hint of peach.
The taste is not as sweet as I was expecting from the aroma and I found it a bit ...

When I bought it, I ask in my mind, is it Earl Grey? and it is.
The flavor of black tea and bergamot are incredible. 3 infusions I made with this tea, in my opinion is a very good tea.

This Earl Grey tea bag was used to make my London Fog at a local coffee shop. If you are near Elizabethtown, PA, you need to stop in at folklore coffee and company. (I used lower case letters because that is what they use) I had never been and I am so glad I did. One, cool place and two, I learned about a London Fo...

Taking my fangirling out of the picture for this review, because I have a very distinct idea of what Butterbeer should taste like and I don't want that to skew things. The aroma is intensely like Rootbeer, which would be great if I liked rootbeer, which I don't. Once brewed it takes on a creamy note and a slight hint o...

Smells great - but had an unpleasant bitter aftertaste - even moreso than other mid-grade bagged black teas that i have tried. Meanwhile, the pineapple scent was delightful - too bad ot does not taste as good as it smells. Steeps quickly and brews-up dark!

I will start by saying that I usually like Twinings Tea. I mean, how can you not Love Twinings, the Author of 50 Shades seems to, and they have been doing tea for a long time. They definately have my respect, just not my love, for this tea. I don't know what it was, I couldn't put my finger on it, and I drank this 3...

The aroma of this tea is nothing short of yummy! Bringing coconut, chocolate, and vanilla notes for a tea that smells like a German Chocolate cupcake. The brewed leaves are richer and the chocolate is more prominent. In the liquid is so similar to a cupcake that it could have fooled me!

I strongly disliked this one, which is perhaps to be expected, as I dislike Twinings regular chai, although I thought this one was much worse. The nut aroma seemed artificial, the base tea was weak and uninteresting, and I didn't like the choice or blend of spices.
