Irish Breakfast from Trader Joe's

This is a moderately tasty, smooth, full tea--especially for a store brand; but then again, Trader Joe's has surprised me in a pleasant way with most of their selections. It's one of the few black teas I've tried where the taste is a lot fuller than the aroma.
Not quite a match for a real Irish tea such as Connem...
Irish Breakfast from Adagio Teas

Rather mild. Fruity smell. Tastes woody, earthy, maybe a bit salty. Moderately astringent. I found it energizing.
I've tried the two Adagio teas that this is apparently a blend of, but this tastes totally different from either.

This is a STRONG black tea - that stands up well to sweetener and/or milk (I never put milk nor cream in tea but if you do this is a good one). Brews up DARK in seconds. You can easily get 2-3 infusions from a bag. May no longer be available?
Not a holy grail - but a solid, caffeinated "Breakfast-style" tea that ...

A full flavor breakfast tea to wake you up in the morning. Best flavor if steeped long enough, the black tea flavor really shines through but much stronger then English Breakfast. Even when added to milk the taste dosent suffer.

A classic, yet exemplary Irish Breakfast tea: true to the style, but also top-quality. My favorite Irish Breakfast tea yet.
Dry leaf is dark and smell pleasant, fruity (like dried fruit), malty, and slightly spicy.
The brewed cup is strong and smells surprisingly much of wintergreen, which I love. There are als...

This is one of my favorite teas by Twinings, although it is not my favorite Irish breakfast blend. Its worst problem is that it tends to be overpriced.

I have no issues with this STRONG black tea - that stands up well to sweetener and/or milk (I never put milk nor cream in tea but if you do this is a good one). Traditional and smooth-tasting and brews up DARK in seconds. You can easily get 2-3 infusions from a bag. Inexpensive and available at supermarkets. Not a ...

Can't say I know this tea all that well, but I have good memories of it each time I drink it. It's not a great tea, but it is a best option at many cafés and kioskes in Paris.
Served with whole milk it can be quite pleasant. It's a smooth tea wich has a suprisingly low bitterness. To my memory it is slightly astrin...

I should note off the bat that I actually brewed this from a K-cup. I'm not sure that would have any effect on the end product beyond decreasing the steeping time, though--and since I steep my teabags until I'm done with the tea, I assume this experience was closer to that of the average person than my own standard exp...

Actually one of Twining's better blends. A bit bolder than their English breakfast tea, with more pronounced malty flavor. A nice mix of Ceylon and Assam teas. Stands up to sugar and cream if you go that way, and just fine on it's own. Biggest disappointment is the lack of aroma. Makes a pretty decent cup of tea.

Traditional unblended tea with deep color and bold flavor. 100% Ceylon. Equally nice as a warm cup to start the day, or iced for a refreshing glass throughout the day. Aroma is very subtle and the flavor not terribly complex. Just a good all around Ceylon tea.

pretty bland in terms of aroma and taste (is that synonymous with Irish?), but good for a change once in a while.

Trader Joe's Original Irish Breakfast is a smooth and dark tea with a welcoming and appealing aroma. The longer the tea steeps the more bitter it becomes but at the suggested time of 3 to 5 minutes you will find a wonderful cup of tea that pleases. I typically drink this at work, two to three cups each day, as a regul...

Though they ended up with the same score, I actually liked the Irish Breakfast slightly better than the English Breakfast from Twinings. Unfortunately, to say I "enjoyed" it would still be too strong.

This tea was a bit bitter and too strong for my taste. Regarding Irish bagged teas, I guess I'm a Barry's fan. I suppose I'm in the minority.

As far as I know, this is the only blend of Assam and Darjeeling. The result is an outstanding flavor, and a wonderful tea, in the Irish style, with a bit of milk.

I like this tea - it's very strong and dark. I have a be careful when brewing it because there's a short window of time that it comes out good - for me about 3 minutes. After that it starts to get very bitter and astringent. I'm starting to notice that in general, it's hard to find decaf black teas that have a lot of f...

A pleasant and drinkable Irish Breakfast, true to the style: very strong. Nothing amazing, but decent quality for a tea bag at the low end of the price range. A sample from the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival.

This was my morning tea of choice this AM. Since I try to get my caffeine in before noon, I really went for it this morning with a strong black tea. My box is almost gone. I enjoyed this tea. Not fancy but reliable. I pretty much knew what I was getting, a tea I can add adequate amounts of sugar and cream to and b...

I admit, I'm a tough customer when it comes to decaf tea--I just don't like it. I tried this out of curiosity, in a sense, to see relatively how bad it was.
Twinings Irish Breakfast, in my opinion, is a pretty decent tea--it's one of my favorite ones, and I like it much more than their English Breakfast, so this wa...

When I first tried this tea, I was quite young, and hated it. I can only assume that my young palate had not grown accustomed to strong black teas, because now I find it much more agreeable.
The flavor and aroma are both fairly good, much better than the English Breakfast tea. Definitely malty, and it takes very w...
