Darjeeling First Flush 2014 Kanchan View White Tea from What-Cha

Style: Darjeeling White Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India

97 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

The aroma of the leaves is nothing short of bright and brisk! Like someone mixed up grapefruit peel, orange blossoms, wildflower honey, and lilies with a green broken vegetation undertone. It is really quite aromatic, and honestly kinda reminds me of my favorite soaps...not that this smells at all soapy, I just have a ...

Castleton Moonlight Darjeeling Black Tea First Flush from Golden Tips

Style: Darjeeling First Flush – Region: Darjeeling, India

87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 9th, 2015

The aroma of the dry leaves is, as expected, quite delicious to the nose, there is a strong muscatel presence, blending fresh juicy grapes and a hint of the more honey sweet raisins. Also fresh hay, a touch of peppery nasturtium leaves, and a bit of freshly crushed parsley at the finish giving the tea a neat herbaceous...

Darjeeling 1st Flush 2014 Gopaldhara SFTGFOP1 Black Tea from What-Cha

Style: Darjeeling First Flush – Region: Darjeeling, India

90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

So, the aroma of this tea is so light and so sweet, it just kinda lays on my nose like a silken scarf. It is a blend of muscatel (specifically very fresh scuppernongs and muscadines) honey, wildflowers, and a tiny touch of pepper at the finish. It reminds me of nasturtiums and growing things and the more milder aspects...

Darjeeling 2nd Flush 2014 Jungpana AV2 Yellow Tea from What-Cha

Style: Yellow Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India

97 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

This tea's aroma is pleasantly transportive, not that I can really figure out where it takes my mind, but I can say it is somewhere deep in my memories and very comforting, it makes me wistful. Emotional impact aside, the notes are peppery, distant blooming flowers, sweet muscadines, and a tiny touch of sweet, warm hay...

Darjeeling Autumn Flush 2013 Jungpana Black Tea from What-Cha

Style: Darjeeling Autumnal Flush – Region: Darjeeling, India

87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

The aroma of the dry leaves is sweet and muscatel, it reminds me a little of white wine and scuppernongs, with a rich undertone of sweet potatoes and roasted peanuts. I think spending time in the South is having an effect on my nose, those are such Southern foods! Regardless of my nose's current influence, the smells i...

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

The aroma is sweet and muscatel, with a bit of a sharp leafy aroma, similar to that of grape leaves and oak wood. It is mild and pleasant, an enjoyable sniff that is reminiscent of nature and plants and a slight sweet finish of raisins.

The taste of this tea is deliciously mild and muscatel with notes of freshly mow...

Darjeeling (teabag) from Ahmad Tea

Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India

53 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Jun. 12th, 2013

The aroma is sweet, it is hard to describe it as anything other than that, it is sweet and very pleasant.

I am beginning to think I am not a fan of Darjeeling unless it is in a blend, because this is the second Darjeeling I have had and not been fond of.

The taste was tart, bitter and a little muddied. I am wil...
