Toasted Coconut Almond Bark Black Tea from Bigelow Tea

Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: Blend

63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 18th, 2023

For a few years, Tazo and Bigelow, in particular, have gone on a bender of producing explicitly dessert-flavored blends, which doesn't bother me, even as it might annoy some tea purists. Hey, who doesn't like some yummy sweet treats after a good dinner? However, Bigelow may have overplayed its hand here and missed th...

Jan. 12th, 2022

Reviewing the loose version here, but I've got a 10-bag sampler pack too, and don't notice any appreciable difference between them in terms of aroma or flavor. This is another among numerous green-black tea blends Murchie's makes (in this case also with roses, cornflowers and jasmine). They largely have mastered wha...

Here's the third offering reviewed here, and the second-best to me, from a 4-pack sample of the various seasonal holiday teas Murchie's produces. As with the others, they are flavored loose blends, in this case composed of black tea, jasmine green, calendula flowers, elder flowers, and unspecified "natural and artifi...

78 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Nov. 21st, 2021

Evergreen is a unique tea, to say the least. That usually means it's going to be a major turn-off, a surprising crowd-pleaser, or just weird. How about, "pleasantly weird"?

Like Shania's boyfriends in her pop-country song, the first couple cups had me thinking, "That don't impress me much!" Unlike them with her, ...

Harney's Paris blend is an interesting and likeable variation on the Earl Grey formula. In addition to bergamot, this has vanilla, black currant, and caramel flavors added to black and oolong teas. It makes for a sweet and festive tea that goes well with milk and sugar.

The scent of this was delicious. The scent of the tea after brewing was delicious. But, there wasn't much to the flavor. At the end of the cup, after the tea had cooled, the notes sat on my palette better. But, something about the notes bypassed my palette when the tea was hot. This might be good as an iced tea. But, a...

Here's the first tea I've tried from a Revolution variety pack, and it was a pleasant surprise! The ingredients list looked promising, with a blend of Ceylon, Darjeeling and "Foromosa" (presumably Formosa, misspelled) oolong, French lavender flowers, and bergamot oil.

It was impossible not to compare this to anothe...

Aside from the blackcurrant, the flavoring in this is rather subtle. The tea base is moderately rich and has a darkness in color as well as taste. It is almost a bit too tart but that's where the faint vanilla and caramel rescue it to give it some sweetness.

It's a good example of blending done well with flavoring...

I'm not super crazy about the aroma of this tea, it has that weird turmeric smell. But the smell is very mild and it's really the taste that matters most. I've never had a turmeric tea before, but this one tastes pretty good to me. It is rich and smooth and has a unique flavor from the turmeric. If you've had turmeric ...

Smells very fruity but not in a very pleasant way, it kind of smells like grape cough syrup to me. I’m not a huge fan of the taste either, it’s pretty watery and leaves an artificial after taste in my mouth. It’s not astringent or bitter which is how I normally like my tea, but this tea is so bad that I wouldn't ...
