Ceylon Blackwood Estate Organic Green Tea from Simpson & Vail

The aroma is a mild sweet, I'm reminded of honey. The flavor is 'clean', with a slight sweet after taste that for me does not linger on the tongue. The liquor brews (5 min) to a pleasant medium brown. Very enjoyable.

Mythical Green from teakruthi

I like this tea. :-) Its flavor reminds me of green teas I had while living in Japan. The tea doesn't go bitter too easily, and it does a great job infusing multiple times. I've gotten four decent cups out of a teaspoon worth of dry leaf. This is no doubt partly due to their being curled. The leaves expand quite a bit.

I reacted to this very similarly to how I did to Teakruthi's other green tea, the Green Valley. I thought it tasted like a good but inexpensive Chinese green tea, and as such I'd be unlikely to buy it because it was so expensive. It didn't stand out and especially did not seem on the level of Chinese teas in this pr...

This tea was multifaceted and intriguing. I also found it resembled aged sheng Pu-erh in certain ways.

Interesting wiry leaf, some pieces broken but most not. The smell of the dry leaf is mild but very pleasant and, in spite of its faintness, quite complex, resembling high-quality Chinese green teas a bit, but als...

An excellent green tea of top quality, definitely among the best green teas I've sampled to come out of Sri Lanka.

This was my second Ceylon green tea that I tried from Blackwood Estate; the first was from Simpson & Vail. It was certainly recognizably similar to the other tea. I liked this one slightly better; it ...

The aroma of this tea is brisk, citrusy, and invigorating, there are also notes of fresh grass. Once the leaves are brewed there is vegetal aroma that mixes with the citrus.

The taste is delicious! Honey sweet with lychee and orange blossoms. A very sweet tea for one with a vegetal aroma!

Organic Idulgashinna Estate Ceylon Green Tea from Arbor Teas

A dark-colored green tea with a brisk character, reminiscent of gunpowder or chun mee. Produces a bold cup that is more flavorful than aromatic.

Aroma is mild and herbaceous, a little dusty and suggestive of smokiness, and flavor is quite sour and a little sharp. Has a strong cooling quality. If it were summer, I...

Simpson and Vail informs me that Blackwood estate is part of Idulgashinna estate, if you're familiar with that one (I am not).

This tea had a similar flavor profile to other Ceylon greens that I've had: it was similar in some ways to Chinese green teas, but with a darker character, and more vegetal, but slightly les...

I tend to love Ceylon green teas from Upton. This one, however, was strange. There were some dusty tones that I normally only encounter in shu Pu-erh. Highly vegetal, and not in a pleasant way. Almost undrinkable hot. I let it cool to room temperature and some fruity tones, reminiscent of yellow raisins, which I f...

The liqueur is a light golden color. It smells soft and subtly sweet. There is a hint of being fermented a little bit extra long. The smells are subtle overall and not very strong. The taste is a lot like the smell but stronger. The first thing I notice is that it is subtly sweet riding in the middle tone while the dee...
