Premium Green Tea from Stash Tea

As a bagged tea, this is one of the better ones that I have had in 4-5 years. It keeps surprising me. Yes, its wonderful! Herbaceous, green grassy flavour. I found a perky-ness to its aroma, good going Stash. Wondering if it is Japanese tea?

Drinking this in my gourd this morning while doing housework. Yerba Mate is one of my great loves. There is nothing like a warm gourd amigo to help me get through my day. It makes my body feel light and airy, and hums around my feet and hands. Strange, I know, but this is the only way I can properly describe it.

I would agree with others that it's a little grassy and bitter. It's drinkable, but not a favorite. It has a slightly baked aroma that isn't for me. It reminds me a little of teas make with rice. Inside the bag the pieces are very small, like dust.

It was fine - good but not great. Very green/grassy smelling and brews darker than most green bagged teas. Not a fave.

I'm not very familiar with yerba mate. It smells like a tree or something. But it tastes really good - it has a rich flavor, kind of chocolaty. I added cream and sugar.

Outstanding. Although this is described as "dark roast", it's greener than a lot of other roasted Yerba mate. The roast is not uniform, and the dry leaf has just as much green as dark brown pieces. I think this mix of roast imparts a complexity to the aroma: it is simultaneously deep and fresh.

The brewed cup is ...

Very good in the end, but I found this one tough to brew properly. The package gives several different ways of preparing, but doesn't specify brewing instructions in much detail. For tea-like brewing, which I used, the package gave the vague and broad recommendation of 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon per cup, and steeping...

This is one of the best Matés on the market. It is now the only Maté I will buy. The flavor is brighter and has more depth than the traditional Maté that Guayaki offers. This is good prepared in a gourd, a french press, a drip coffee brewer, a teapot, and an on the go brewing mug (yes I have tried all these ways). I...

Naturally very sweet. The roast is mellow and does not seem to impart any bitterness or burnt qualities. A creamy, vanilla-like quality is dominant in the aroma. A hint of smokiness is present, especially in the aftertaste. The flavor and aroma of this drink are very pleasant and complex.

I have tried brewing th...

Mild, woody aroma, with a hint of wintergreen. The smell reminds me of the inside of some people's homes...it's a homey, comfortable, familiar sort of smell, but slightly medicinal. This tea is slightly sweet, and very mellow.

After drinking two cups (the sample only really makes three) I'm still not sure how I fe...

Very smooth flavor, yet tobacco-like in aroma, almost to the point of being harsh. The aroma is also reminiscent of wood, earth, and stone. A strange and rather strong sweetness is present, especially in the aftertaste.

I find Upton's recommendations to be off. I prefer to steep only a few minutes, and use less l...

Aroma grassy, fresh, a bit fishy. There's a hint of sweetness...a lot of astringency though. More like a sencha than any other kind of green tea. Is this tea attempting to be a sencha?

This tea is very difficult to brew. It scalds easily if the water is too hot, leaving it bitter and sour; there are a generous a...

Don't like. It's really bitter tasting - I recommend Stash Tea's Fusion Green and White for something smoother yet still rich in antioxidants.
