Style: White Peony Tea – Region: Fujian, China80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 8/10

This tea exhibits a pure, delicate flavor -- essentially what every white tea is described as by the company that sells it. It has no bitterness and a smooth flavor. When in the mood for a straightforward, pure tea that isn't grassy, this is a nice choice.Read Full Review

This was surprisingly good. The flavor had a nice soothing aroma and taste in a "ah, this is the kind of food adults like" sort of way. It strikes me as a particularly good tea for certain brisk days.Read Full Review

Not bad, but a bit astringent (almost bitter) to my taste. It has a refreshing quality, too. This tea reminds me a lot of the teas I drank while living in Japan (though it's a Chinese tea).Read Full Review
Certainly worth giving a try. I always like the quality of Rishi teas.
Style: Green Tea – Region: China80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 8/10

A nice green tea! It has a quality that is both vegetable and not-quite-baked. I'm not entirely sure how to describe this. It tastes similar to teas that I had while in Japan, and which I enjoyed very much there. It seems to have cause a slight tickle in my throat the way that some green teas can. I still need to figur...Read Full Review

In my opinion, among the best offerings by Two Leaves Tea. This is a very well done Darjeeling. A bit pricy for bagged tea, but worth it when you're in the mood to splurge. It doesn't need a long steep, either. Mmmmmm. It's really hitting the spot tonight.Read Full Review

Meh. Generic fanning green tea. Not too bad if you include honey, but it can still go bitter. If you have nothing else it's not the worst, but I wouldn't buy it again.Read Full Review

Surprisingly, I found this one acceptably enjoyable. The tea was nothing dazzling, but it wasn't bitter (after steeping briefly) and I got two cups out of it. The second cup was weaker, but still decent. The fannings infuse quickly, so you don't need to keep the bag in for long. I found this in the cupboard of a friend...Read Full Review

Very soothing tea. This reminds me a lot of a tea I've tried before, but I honestly can't figure out which one. It tastes, perhaps, similar to a good milky oolong, even though that's a different kind?Read Full Review

I remember drinking tea like this in Japan. It was never my favorite, unfortunately, but this didn't seem to be a bad sample of it. It has a sort of baked-like flavor that can be very hit or miss with me. Adding honey helped.Read Full Review

This is a very nice Dragon Well. Excellent price for the quality and, so long as you don't let it oversteep, it makes several excellent cups.
This tea infuses quite slowly and tends to look pale. The taste is there, though. Waiting for some steam ...
Style: Matcha – Region: Japan70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 6/10

Not a bad matcha. I used a little milk and think this would be even better with all milk instead out water. I like this kind of drink creamy. Also felt it needed some sweetness, so I added honey. This set of flavors blended very well. I'm looking forward to trying this tea a number of different ways. Read Full Review

Tastes halfway between a Darjeeling and a typical black tea. I didn't like it the first time I tried it, but this time it's quite smooth. Don't oversteep it to avoid bittterness. Slightly raisin-like.Read Full Review

Not bitter or otherwise bad, but not really for me. A pretty subdued Earl Grey with a light bergamot and a fairly nondescript black tea base. Preferred mine with a bit of milk. Would drink if it was the only thing available, but much better exists. Read Full Review

Quite a nice Darjeeling. It isn't as complex or raisin-like as some others, but it certainly fits in with the better-than-most-black-teas-by-a-lot crowd. Like other Darjeelings, it strikes me as a better version of Southern tea than actual Southern teas. For me, this makes an excellent everyday drinking tea. Not only i...Read Full Review

I loved matcha in Japan, but I really need more practice brewing it. This matcha tastes of good quality and has a proper level of sweetness (not overdone). I like it, but I need to try it more to determine how best I like it. I do know that mixing in a little milk first to make a paste before adding the hot water makes...Read Full Review

I haven't tried a lot of breakfast blends and black tea isn't my favorite, so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. It has a raisin-like flavor that is satisfying without being overwhelming. I drank my cup with milk and felt that it needed this. I suspect that milk and a bit of lemon juice would help it even ...Read Full Review

For the second time since I began recording here, I found a green tea that tastes good but that causes a tickle/tension in my throat. I won't be getting this one again, but if you've never had an (allergic?) reaction like this, then it's a good sencha to try.Read Full Review

Not a bad tea, but not as impressive as other Dragonwells I've had, actually. It went bitter too easily (and the infusion was still pretty weak) and it wasn't grassy enough for my taste. Worth trying, but not quite as good as I was hoping.Read Full Review

I actually liked this one a bit more than the version with cardamom. It has that distinctive fish cake aroma, but not to an overwhelming degree or in an unpleasant way. I could really see enjoying this with a tasty Japanese meal, or at least with a dish of seafood.Read Full Review

Unfortunately, the first disappointing tea I've had from Numi. It tastes generic and bland. I haven't tried many decaffeinated teas so I don't know how this compares, but I'm quite unimpressed. Meh.Read Full Review

Pleasant for a black tea, not bitter, and seems to be of good quality, but it tastes pretty ordinary to me. Black tea isn't my favorite, but I like trying them to see what I'll find. I added milk and this improved it a bit. I don't have anything negative to say about this tea, but it isn't really for me.Read Full Review

Not bad for a black tea. Detected a little bitterness in the finish, but it wasn't off putting. Also smelled and tasted subtly raisin-like. Not bad, but not outstanding and not my personal favorite style of tea--especially given that it's rather pricey.Read Full Review

As a pure white tea, this wasn't bad, but it wasn't a flavor to get me excited. It didn't taste bitter to me, which was a plus, but overall it was fairly nondescript. (Or maybe I'm missing nuances because I need to internalize the language of tea better?)Read Full Review

I actually found this tea to be refreshing and clean. It's simple, but not in a way that's bitter or at all unpleasant. I brewed it a short time at 175 °F and was pleasantly surprised by how very drinkable it is. The aroma is very light and the infusion is a pale green. Its a bit plain by itself, so I recommend drinki...Read Full Review
