An excellent blend for an excellent price, that I can see pleasing both connoisseurs and lovers of strong black teas. Potent but smooth and also complex.

Dry leaf, which is intact and wiry, has a very pleasing aroma with strong vegetal notes.

A strong black tea blend of very good quality. Another sample brought back from Germany.

Brews up a rich, dark cup that is only moderately aromatic. The aroma is very malty and slightly vegetal. The flavor is very smooth up-front, but there's a tannic edge towards the end of the sip, which I found quite pleasant....

Purchased in the Eilles store in Regensburg, on my recent trip to Germany. I really enjoy this tea; it's a potent black tea blend, but with a very different character from Assam-based Irish breakfast blends. I drunk it unsweetened and with no milk.

Aroma is rich, malty but also vegetal, slightly roasty, suggesting...

Strong but without an edge; malty, full-bodied, but not overly tannic. The dry leaf has a pleasantly strong vegetal aroma, unusual for a black tea, but I was disappointed to find little of this characteristic come through in the brewed cup.
