About Chile

Chile is a country on the west coast of South America. Chile stretches very far north-south and rises from the pacific ocean to tall mountains; because of its shape and geography, it has an extremely diverse climate for a country of such modest area. Northern Chile is very arid, and is home to the driest desert on earth; rainfall increases to the south and also varies with elevation.

Chile does not produce any measurable quantity of tea on the global market, and RateTea is not aware of any tea grown in Chile that is available in the West. Chile does produce some herbs used in herbal teas.

The country is particularly important as a producer of rose hips.
