Color me spoiled, addicted, imprinted like a baby duck. This was the first single estate Darjeeling I ever sampled and nothing else has ever come close to the golden Muscatel notes (the very apotheosis of the trait), and summery, so-second-flush hints of dark dried fruits, nuts and spice with just the right touch of woody astringency. Everything just enough and nothing too anything. Think the best aged dry sherries or matured red Virginia pipe tobaccos with just a hint of brightness.

I've tried many Darjeelings since, but this is the only one that matters to me, which is why this will likely be my first, last, and only tea review ever. Consistently fulfills my original expectations. Bliss.

Boiling water, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes. An additional half to full minute for a heavier-bodied, darker finish.
