This was the best rooibos I've ever tried in a teabag and among the best rooibos I've ever tried.

I was excited when this new company, Rooi life, approached me with a sample offer. The company sells only a single product: pure rooibos, in tea bags, in a fairly big package too.

Quite aromatic, earthy and with fruity and vanilla notes. The aroma has a complexity rivaling that of the best loose-leaf rooibos I've tried. Flavor is relatively bold and crisp for rooibos, smoother than black tea but with a similarly satisfying fullness, a light astringency, and just a hint of bitterness. If you like rooibos for its ability to emulate or replace black tea, I'd especially recommend this as it was among the most tea-like example of this herb that I've tried yet.

If you drink rooibos in quantity, like I do, it might be worth looking at this company, although I'm still partial to loose-leaf myself both in terms of price and quality.

The price is okay but I think could be better; if it were only the price of the box, at $20, it would be better, but this tea is only sold through Amazon, and the shipping cost is nearly $7.00, and $27.00 seems a bit steep for 80 tea bags, that works out to be over 33 cents a cup. It's also competing against loose-leaf, which I can buy much cheaper. For example, Frontier Co-Op's rooibos (I don't like it quite as much as this though) is about $21 per pound, and a pound is well over twice as much as 80 tea bags worth of this.

Bottom line though, this is top-notch among rooibos.
