Commercial Description

We turned to Hibiscus, blackberry leaves, and orange peel when we created this tea and it reminded us of a wonderful hike in the mountains of Colorado, where we live. This bright berry tea brews up a beautiful jewel-toned shade of red. Perfect for sipping on a cold day, or refreshing over ice.

I have mixed feelings about this one. As a fan of fruity, tart, and hibiscus-based teas, I feel like I should like this one more than I did. There was nothing bad about it; for me the flavors seemed balanced, not overly intense. But at the same time, I don't find it brag worthy. Certainly worth a shot if you like herbal teas like this one, but I feel like it's lacking that certain something that makes certain teas a favorite for me.

Method: 1 tea bag in 8 oz at 205 degrees for 3 min.

Impressions: The color was lovely and the aroma was nice, but the tartness of the hibiscus was overpowering. After adding about a tsp. of rock sugar, this was much better. Even with the sugar to soften things, I didn't taste anything past the hibiscus.

I wasn't very impressed by this tea. It was a fruity and a little sour with a very sweet aroma. The hibiscus is very evident. Blackberry leaves is an interesting addition--not sure if I've seen this in other teas before.

Not too sour. Mildly sour, also mildly sweet. Subtle, balanced. Fairly strong fruitiness but not as artificial-tasting as some of these blends. Aroma of hibiscus, apple, and berries.

I'm not crazy about these types of blends. This may have been above average for this style of herbal tea, and I did drink it and enjoy it somewhat, but it's unlikely that I would choose to drink it again.

I also think, in contrast to the other teas from Two Leaves and a Bud, which are a couple notches up from the normal low-end tea bag brands, this one was only slightly better, and would probably seem overpriced for someone with my tastes.
