I am currently at my family’s for the holidays, and my method of brewing is to dispense hit water from a Keurig. The Apple is somewhat present but not strong or sweet enough to counteract the bitterness of the tea. I’ll have to try this again at home where I have more temperature control. What is this, the East India Trading Company? Are we still living in the Age of Imperialism? Come, now. That aside... But where green tea fades into the background of the aroma, it dominates the flavor, leaving mint as a strong aftertaste. The base tea and the bergamot blended well, with neither one overwhelming or dominating the other. I wasn't quite dazzled by the flavor, but this is easily the best of the "Earls" I've tried so far. I'm not generally a fan of black teas, but bergamot is a nice flavor, so with the right green tea and done well, I bet that it would be lovely. Here, it was a bit too easy to overbrew the tea. The directions advise 2-4 minutes, but that's far too long. Leaving the bag in for more than a minute results in a somewhat bitter cup--which surprised me.
