I know she likes mint, but normally I do not, so I figured she would be able to really appreciate this. I brewed it at 208 degrees for 5 minutes. I added about a tsp of rock sugar, but no milk. My Mom really liked this! It smelled so great that I took a sip and you know what? Even *I* liked it! The chocolate and mint flavors are there, but neither is overpowering. Traditionally this flower is brewed both by itself and with various teas in the summer months because of its cooling qualities. This blend has only a small proportion of osmanthus to green tea, more for aroma, and to let the green tea to shine through. I very much enjoyed the subtlety and intermixing of flavors. A wonderful brew for hot, humid days, especially when served cool. I'm a big fan of Jasmine, so I really liked the aroma of this tea. It wasn't as strong as most Jasmines I've had, but it certainly delivered subtle floral tones. The flavor didn't pack a huge punch, but I found it enjoyable! The cup has a light aroma which strongly reminds me of the inside of the old Wilbur chocolate factory in Lititz PA, with the smell of chocolate and peppermint. The peppermint has a slightly creamy quality to it. Upon sipping, the flavor is pleasant...there's a slight muted bitterness which I find very pleasing, and the warmth of the cocoa is balanced by a cooling finish imparted by the peppermint. Upon brewing though, I like the aroma much more. I also find that it tastes even better once it has cooled to room temperature. This is my first osmanthus-scented green tea; I've had osmanthus-scented oolong tea before, and it's among my favorite teas. I find that the floral scent doesn't blend as seamlessly with the base tea as in the case of the oolong tea that I tried in the past. It has a weird kind of aroma, but it's good overall. The flavor is strong, crisp, and not too bitter. I added cream and sugar. It has a rich flavor. I can really taste the chocolate, and it has a strong black tea that I really like, and it really supports the flavor well. It's a nice blend of flavors. Dry leaf has a mild but very pleasing aroma suggestive of sweet dried fruit, but fresher and lighter smelling. Upon brewing, this produces a very dark brown cup with a mellow aroma, yet exquisite flavor.
