Somewhat oolong-like, with an herbaceous aroma and a mellow, slightly savory flavor. The flavor and mouthfeel of this tea are particularly interesting...it's a bit peppery and spicy, yet smooth overall, with some honey-like sweetness. Although the other Sikkim teas I've tried prior to this one have been rather Darjee...

Feb. 24th, 2012

Aroma is vague, flat, stale, cardboard.

Flavor is thin, even with two teabags; if steeped longer it's bolder, but then it comes along with this firm bitterness that Alex described. Not really pleasant, but a good pick-me-up.

Value: I've never bought this tea, another freebie from the office. I suppose that mea...

The aroma of the dry leaf of this tea really got my attention: rich and strongly aromatic, fruity, deep, but also light and fresh. I received this and the Singbulli first flush as samples from Harney and Sons.

I was surprised to find that this decaffeinated black tea is actually a single-region tea, originating in Sumatra, Indonesia.

I picked up this blend from a friend, and I found it to be sickeningly sweet, to the point of being barely drinkable. Yerba mate is naturally quite sweet, so I do not see the need to sweeten it, and I tend to like unsweetened tea and herbal teas. But the amount of sweetener in this is absolutely over the top...far mo...

This is an all time fave in the UK and has many fans including me. It is quick brewing and very robust, certainly not for the faint hearted, or the chap down the page who gets 5 cups from 1 tea bag. Typhoo Tea from Typhoo

60 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 21st, 2012

Although not my favourite brew, Typhoo has, according to my late mother, been enjoyed in my family since the 1920's. I perhaps first tasted it in the early 1950's as a young boy, and, as far as I remember, it was never usurped by any other tea in that household. It was, according to my mother, one of the few teas that ...
