I love this tea. I drink it practically every day. The bergamot flavor is strong but not overpowering. It blends well with the tea. I always add cream and sugar.

Picture of Greener Green Tea Yerba Mate

Greener Green Tea Yerba Mate from Guayaki

Style: Miscellaneous Blend – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 10th, 2012

This is the first type of Yerba Mate I've tried and I'll definitely be having it again. It had a strong grassy scent and looked like green tea, but I felt like the flavor reminded me of a favorite black without a strong aftertaste. Aside from taste and scent, I also like that this tea is organic and fair-trade.

Wild Encounter Herb Tea from Novus Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 10th, 2012

Usually I don't like flavored tea, so I was surprised to find that I liked this one. The fruity taste wasn't as overbearing as most flavored teas that I've had and disliked, like Tazo Passion. While I won't be drinking this again based on personal preference, I'd recommend it to someone who wants to experiments with ...

This tea is pretty good. On the verge of being a bit too bitter, but it's strong enough. I added cream and sugar.

Calm Chamomile Full Leaf from Tazo Tea

Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Apr. 4th, 2012

Along with China Green Tips, this has to be Tazo's other best tea in tea bags. I typically do not drink herbal teas at all, but this one is really excellent. The tea liquor itself is a warm yellow color, and the taste is complex, a little sweet, and it is very clean and refreshing. Although the tea is made with flowers...

Earl Grey Supreme (Sachet) from Harney and Sons

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 1st, 2012

Served in a restaurant.

An above-average Earl Grey, with a strong, fruity bergamot quality, and a base tea with a rich, malty character.

I think the loose-leaf version of this tea is very reasonably priced, but the boxed, wrapped sachets are pricey. I suppose you pay for the packaging.

Earl Grey (Loose) from Ahmad Tea

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Mar. 28th, 2012

Ahmad delivers yet another loose-leaf tea of exceptional quality for its price!

A medium-bodied tea, perhaps slightly milder than typical for an Earl Grey. Aroma is fruity, slightly citrusy, and slightly floral, with malty undertones from the base tea. Like most of Ahmad's offerings, I found this tea to be very sm...

Ginger Lemon Mint from Divinitea

Mar. 23rd, 2012

Not what I expected; this herbal tea has a fair amount of hibiscus, giving it a deep purple color and tangy flavor. There is little lemon evident in the aroma.

I'm not a fan; it was too sour for me. I might have liked this one better had I been expecting the hibiscus...I sometimes rather like blends containing hib...

I can't really taste the tea, but it has a nice vanilla flavor, and I like the combination of vanilla with mint. It's a little too minty for me. I added cream and sugar.

Ginger Twist from Mighty Leaf Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 16th, 2012

It seems to have that strange aftertaste that you get with licorice or anise (or some artificial sweeteners), and it's a bit "grassy". BUT, the ginger and other ingredients make for a wonderfully-calming, stomach-soothing hot tea. When enjoyed with scones or ginger crisps, it's a very pleasant way to relax in the after...

This tea is good. It has a really sweet, interesting flavor that blends really well. It tastes really smooth. I don't usually especially like floral teas, but in this case I think the flowers are a positive addition to the flavor. I added cream and sugar.

Mar. 9th, 2012

The ingredients say chamomile, star anise, and lemon balm, but upon drinking it, it seems like there is also peppermint in it. Peppermint has a distinctive aroma, and is a logical choice for inclusion in an herbal blend to settle the stomach, but the fact that it's not listed is a little strange to me.

I don't noti...

This is a nice light chocolate tea. There is a slight taste of cinnamon and a tiny after taste of cardamom. The cocoa is not overwhelming, I find the aroma and flavor to be light, but jut enough to enjoy.

Organic Chamomile with Lavender from Traditional Medicinals

Aroma is lavender, lavender, lavender. A touch of chamomile and something faintly citric. The label says there is "lemon balm leaf" in here. This is where this infusion really shines.

Flavor: Thin, earthy, lavender. Hardly any chamomile is perceptible; but in all fairness, the directions say to use two bags for a...

I was disappointed with this tea. It has a very weak flavor and the taste is a little "off" considering the dried berries and other goodies it contains. It goes bitter quickly- 2 minutes or less steep time works for me. I won't order this again, though.

Peach DeTox from Yogi Tea

53 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 1/5
Mar. 3rd, 2012

The aroma is of strong ginger and spice with some vague fruitiness.

Taste begins dry and herbal; numbing on tongue; perhaps the black pepper? As it covers the tongue, you get a hit of dandelion; it tastes so "good for you" but not necessarily unpleasant. The ginger takes over, and leaves a ginger and black pepper t...

Soothing mint and woody liquorice bark on the nose. Something funky/earthy in the background.

Thin, minty and naturally sweet. Some earthiness; really satisfying. Sweetness lingers on the finish.

Value has to take a hit because Yogi tea is relatively expensive for bagged teas; it's been a while since I bought ...

Cranberry Apple Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea

Aroma: Sharp acidity from the cranberries, quickly followed by faint cinnamon; perhaps the apples playing a trick on my mind?

Flavor: Zing! Familiar hibiscus with some added cranberry zip. Very nice. Clean and astringent, but not bitter. Ever so slight sweetness.

Not terribly expensive, and widely available. ...

Aroma is the familiar bergamot zing, and a little hint of the brightness that I tend to associate with better black teas.

Flavor: Surprisingly mild, given the bergamot on the nose; not really getting much "tea" flavor here, slight bitterness as the cup cools. Light palate.

Value: another work freebie to incentiv...

This is an all time fave in the UK and has many fans including me. It is quick brewing and very robust, certainly not for the faint hearted, or the chap down the page who gets 5 cups from 1 tea bag. He is clearly not an English tea drinker, who on average likes it hot, strong and sweet with a good dash of milk. Of cou...
