Winter Dream from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
Style: Rooibos / Tea Blend – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 27th, 2014
I've heard some people say that they think this tea is a bit strong when not made as a latte, but I think it's excellent either way. The smell is wonderful and the tea itself feels like a warm blanket and a crackling fireplace in the middle of a quiet winter's night. Wholeheartedly recommended--but with the addendum ab...

black tea with equal parts tropical fruit smell...brewed on the higher end of both leaves and time brewed...taste is more bitter than I was expecting...and less fruity, but fuller flavor. Mostly black tea taste here, with a hint of fruit. (NEXT TIME BREW 5 MINUTES INSTEAD OF 6?)

A complex, versatile black tea of excellent quality that can be brewed to suit different tastes.
The dry leaf of this tea is very tightly rolled, almost like a gunpowder tea. In spite of this though, it's intensely aromatic, with a very pleasing aroma, fresh, fruity, light smelling, with tones of wintergreen and a ...
Masala Chai from Adagio Teas
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 1st, 2014
The aroma may be the best part of this tea, with the flavor being a solid second. The smell is just about perfect if you're in the mood for something at once spicy and comforting.
The flavor was full and satisfying, though I'd personally prefer a tiny bit of sweetness be added to the flavor. So I ended up adding a b...
Earl Grey Bravo from Adagio Teas
Style: Blue Flower Earl Grey – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

I greatly prefer this EG to Adagio's Earl Grey Moonlight. This is a basic EG, and that's ok by me. The tea has a good aroma and flavor, but without being overpowering. I'd call this one solid.
I had the sugar and milk out, but it didn't need either. This was great on its own and I can see this being a tea I drink a...
Cherry from Adagio Teas

This could be a new fave! The unbrewed tea aroma is amazeballs. Stepped for 5 min with boiling water, there was no bitterness here.
The cherry flavor is pleasantly noticeable, without being overpowering. The base black tea they use seems like the perfect showcase for the cherry flavor. I wish I had some of this...
French Breakfast from Golden Moon Tea

The aroma of this tea is bright, bold, and malty with a hint of pecans and dried leaves. Very much a standard black tea indeed!
This tea has a nice mild briskness, just enough to wake you up but not too much, no need to worry about your moth turning inside out. There is a bold malty and oak wood taste that fades to ...
Greenfield Estate Ceylon Black Tea from Arbor Teas
Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 29th, 2014
The aroma is exceptionally sweet and fruity, blending notes of fresh grapes, scuppernongs, and a hint of fresh figs. There is also a very mild note of roses and malt, giving this tea a delightfully complex aroma. This might be the best smelling Black Ceylon that I have had the pleasure of sniffing.
The taste of this...
Cherry Black Tea from Impra Tea

Another tea bag purchased from Bell's Market in NE Philly. I was expecting to like this flavored tea a lot less than the blackcurrant, because I tend to like blackcurrant as a flavoring with tea much more than cherry.
This has an artificial-smelling cherry scent. It smells more like cherry syrup or an artificially...

I'm a huge fan of Twinings blackcurrant-flavored black tea, and it's the only example of such a tea that I've ever tried, so I was curious to try this one. Unfortunately, I don't like it as much.
The fruit flavoring is much stronger in this tea...it's so strong that walking out of the room, and coming back, I can s...

This is the only single estate, pure Ceylon that is strong enough to be called a Breakfast tea. Excellent flavor and bold, crisp finish. Brews best with 8 oz hot water for 3 minutes.

I've got a soft spot for this offering from Ahmad after stumbling across it when I was living in northern Norway and was hankering after a good brew. This is a very good example of Ceylonese tea, typical bright colour, moderate maltiness and very refreshing. To me it's a lovely summer tea and well worth having in the p...

From the Dimbula area of Sri Lanka, this is one of Dilmah's best offerings, many times better than their standard English Breakfast tea and one of the best bag teas I've tasted. Very flavoursome, malty and a splendid example of the style. Now my preferred teabag of choice.

I loved this tea; it was one of the best Ceylons I've ever sampled. Robust, warming, and surprisingly multifaceted.
Dry leaf has a very pleasant smell, suggestive of dried fruit.
Brews a lighter reddish-brown color; rich and complex aroma, suggesting wood, spice, dried fruit, and malt. I find the commercial des...

The aroma is very sweet with notes of burnt sugar and vanilla with a hint of black tea, it very much so smells like tea and candy. Once brewed the aroma becomes quite malty and rich with notes of toffee and creamy sweetness.
The taste is pretty intense tasting almost more like a caramel mochiatto than tea! Strong no...

This is one tasty chai. The blend of spices leans to the warm flavors and aroma of ginger and cloves, rather than to the cinnamon and cardamom sweetness which is present but not dominant. The Ceylon Sonata black tea which is the base, is a wonderful Kenilworth Estate tea that has citrus and spice notes that shine throu...

The aroma of this tea is brisk, citrusy, and invigorating, there are also notes of fresh grass. Once the leaves are brewed there is vegetal aroma that mixes with the citrus.
The taste is delicious! Honey sweet with lychee and orange blossoms. A very sweet tea for one with a vegetal aroma!

Very impressed with quality and value of this tea. Ahmad teas continues to surprise me with nice flavors and aromas that more expensive brands often miss. Amazed at the quality of tea for a great price. Nice blend that brews up consistently with a pleasant aroma and flavor, showing off the characteristics most sought in Ceylon/Sri Lankan teas. Bold, smooth and slightly astringent. Brisk, bright and two good steeps from the leaves. Classic!

Ran across this at my local Big Lots, with a price of $2 for 20 teabags, so of course I bought some. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed, in fact, very happily surprised. The tea bags are not individually wrapped, but instead come sealed as a group. The ginger flavor is mild and doesn't overwhelm the black te...

This was not what I expected; a very smooth English breakfast tea. Very full-bodied and mild, more sweet than bitter. Creamy, and a bit bland flavor-wise.
Aroma is unusual...the dominant quality is vanilla and caramel, but in those subtle ways that pure teas exhibit these sorts of qualities. Slightly flat tasting...

The tea fell short for me. Aroma was great, but taste was flat. I steeped for 8 minutes to try and bring out full flavor, but no luck. I like a more full bodied tea, and one that I can feel pleasantly leeching into every nook and cranny. This tea didnt do that. Extremely light, and probably low in caffeine content as w...

Dilmah has a great line of Ceylon/Sri Lanka teas that really let you taste the different growing conditions available on this small island nation. They have single region teas (like this low grown Yata Watte) and single estate teas (like Dombagastalawa Single Estate) that really open your eyes to the variety of flavor...
