Irish Breakfast from Twinings
Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: ?????60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

When I first tried this tea, I was quite young, and hated it. I can only assume that my young palate had not grown accustomed to strong black teas, because now I find it much more agreeable.
The flavor and aroma are both fairly good, much better than the English Breakfast tea. Definitely malty, and it takes very w...
English Breakfast from Twinings

This tea is nothing special. It's a pity, you'd expect Twinings to get at least a basic English Breakfast tea right, but sadly this one falls short. Not only is the flavor lacking, but it's easily overbrewed, and tends towards the bitter side.
If one manages to properly brew it, there's still nothing to write ho...
Black Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????35 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 1/5

It's been a really long time, and I haven't rated this tea yet, so I decided to finally do it.
I think Lipton gets a bad rap...it's the brunt of all the tea enthusiasts jokes, which makes sense because it's the #1 brand in the US (and some other parts of the world as well) by sales volume and presence. And I really...
Iced Black Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????23 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5

I am rating the bottled Lipton Iced tea. Far too much sweetener makes it undrinkable. Yech! Bitter, black-tasting and over-sweetened and caloric. Owned by PepsiCo.

I just don't care for smoked teas (lapsang souchong) and this one had an almost cigarett-y/tarry scent to it (more of an aroma than a taste - thank goodness). Just not my bag at all! And terrible iced. Barely tolerable hot.
What possessed me to try this? I should know better by now. At least it was free (had thi...

The aroma and flavor of this tea were not overwhelming, it had the typical maltiness of Assam and the tanginess of Ceylon but both were muted.
The flavor, although muted, is really pleasant and a good bagged tea for when you first wake up and really just want a quick, tasty, cup of tea. Very evocative of the tea I ...
Decaf Black Tea from Salada
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????33 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5

Not a fan. Brews up black and very quickly. Not good hot but palatable over ice. - Salada is cheap and easy to come by.
Decent over ice especially for a decaf tea - as decaf teas can taste "flat" and this one is indeed, a bit flat. Don;t oversteep, add some lemon and sweetener and you've got a passable iced tea.
Black Tea from Lipton Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????60 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5

Honestly, I don't think this tea is all that bad. It's the first type I've ever had, and while it isn't a fancy and rare loose-leaf brand it's not terrible. It actually tastes similar to a lot of fancier and pricier teas that I've had -- why pay more if you're looking for a basic black?
The tea itself is average, ...
English Teatime from Bigelow Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????40 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5

Blah. "Office Tea" - I used to get this in an old law firm I works at who stocked a variety of Bigelow Teas. Blah. Not awful but not good either. Mediocre black tea that steeps-up dark and fairly fast. As others have said, this one is bitter at the end. Tastes ok at first - but bitter aftertaste,

This tea wasn't as strong as I expected, considering that it's an Irish Breakfast. Then again I've never been one to think that Irish Breakfast is strong, I've had stronger Assams. I'm a big fan of smells, so I appreciate its roasted aroma. I wouldn't go out of my way for this tea, but I liked it overall and would dr...

Swill! Brews up black and bitter. Not good by any means - but it is cheap and easy to come by and provided free by my company. Blech!

I thought this tea uninteresting. As an English Breakfast tea, I strongly prefer Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe. If they labelled that tea as their English Breakfast, I'd be perfectly convinced.
This tea has a very bold flavor. It is quite bitter--more so than astringent, which I like. Produces a clear cup with a ...

I like this tea. It's strong. It doesn't seem very notable. I added cream and sugar.

I'm not crazy about the flavor of this tea. It's a little bitter, and very sensitive to brewing time. I brewed it for 2 minutes and that seems to be optimal. I usually brew tea for at least 4 minutes because I like it strong. I added cream and sugar.

This is a pretty decent, strong black tea bag. I don't quite like it as much as Twinings' Ceylon Orange Pekoe, but it's close, and it's bolder tasting. The teabag contains fine dust, but it produces a good flavor.
Aroma is malty and rich; a few of the wintergreen tones I so love in tea, and the finish is mostly of...

This is an absolute shocker and I'm quite sure one of the reasons tea has never taken off in the States and on the continent. Probably the most widdly tasting tea widely available. You could get exactly the same effect by throwing the grass clippings from your lawnmower into a bucket of water.
If anyone offers you t...

To be honest this really doesn't do a lot for me and sadly it's the usual offering in cafes and teashops here if you ask for an English Breakfast. Never brews up strong enough for my tastes, and it's a fairly insipid flavour. To be honest, It won't offend but it's not going to blow your socks off and wow you either. I ...

When I first wake up, I don't have it in me to be a tea snob, carefully sniffing out the grassy hay notes in obscure Chinese teas. It's not what I crave at that hour, and the subtlety would be lost on me anyway.
So, with breakfast I usually like some kind of milky, sweetened, very strong black tea. A breakfast blend...

Salada's original blend appears to be weak to us, as though they put less tea in the bags. We used it for years and years. But it no longer has a robust flavor or aroma in your cup, let alone a second cup. While visiting Canada recently we affirmed this criticism while enjoying Canada's version of a cup of tea. Up...

Lipton Black Tea is kind of bad. I prefer PG Tips but I have to say this: I love their Ice Tea, Their Ice tea is full of flavour and the Aroma is not really like Tea but it's sweet and sticky. Their Black Tea is disappointing but their Ice Tea is one of the best Ice teas. I have seen on Yahoo! Answers that Lipton is o...

Aroma is simultaneously bold and vague, with faint assam-like notes; flattish with a little cardboard.
Flavor is strong (two bags for 12 oz.) and familiar; this was probably the first tea of any type I ever had, and it is my construct for what black tea should taste like. For me, this is the standard against which ...
English Teatime from Bigelow Tea

Aroma is vague, flat, stale, cardboard.
Flavor is thin, even with two teabags; if steeped longer it's bolder, but then it comes along with this firm bitterness that Alex described. Not really pleasant, but a good pick-me-up.
Value: I've never bought this tea, another freebie from the office. I suppose that mea...
