Put it this way: when this is the only tea available, I think long and hard about whether I have to have a cup of tea.

This tea is very basic. Its flavor and aroma are flat, and it is clearly made of scrap bits of tea, but it will do in a pinch.

I drink this a lot and bring it with me to class. I like English breakfast tea in general and this is tasty and a good price. It tastes great with some lemon and honey.

Really good if made with boiling water and steeped for a short time ... if not, it's very bitter and strong.

Aroma is mellow, warm, and keemun-like. But this tea is much more bitter and astringent than most keemuns--unpleasantly so. The bitterness sinks to the bottom of the cup, leaving an unpleasant surprise ending to a tea that starts out very smooth.
I recommend brewing this one briefly, only a minute or two, for best...

I swear this tastes like it has a significant amount of pu-erh in it...it has that earthy, dust-like quality to it. I never used to like lipton's decaf until I started liking pu-erh and then my appreciation of it increased slightly--but only very slightly. It really could be a lot more bland than it is. But it's sti...

Deep mahogany/orange with reddish hues. Floral nose is also earthy and delivers hints of wet leaves and spice. Tastes pungent and tannic. Very earthy with just a hint of fruitiness towards the end. Not as balanced as I'd like, but overall good. My daily drinking tea for drinking in large quantities.

I think this tea does not stack up to the quality of Ten Ren's other teabag teas; it makes me wonder if it's included only as an afterthought, as Ten Ren does not seem to specialize in black teas. Aroma is nondescript, generic, lacking complexity. If you want a darker tea from Ten Ren, I'd recommend a darker oolong.

Not a bad lapsang, but I've had better and more flavorful.
