This was my go to afternoon tea until I tasted the Yorkshire Gold. Lovely, intriguing aromas and rich body. Great with a splash of milk. N.B.: This tea MUST be kept in an airtight container as it fades away very quickly when left in the box.

A few years ago, this was a very good tea. Just tried the current release. Bleh! An overly herbacious black tea overwhelms the rest of the cup.

Opaque and dark black tea with a bit of smoothness. It has some unique qualities and is not the typical black tea, but it lacks any real complexity or richness. Quite plain, really.

I have to say that, especially for a plain black tea, I find this divine. I’ve purchased a few boxes and it’s a staple go-to tea for a quick cup of tea that’s bold and refreshing when I have little time. I do drink it with sugar (1 tsp.) to enhance the flavor. Deep and rich, careful not to oversteep. My son enjoy...

A nice hearty tea with a great smell. Easy to brew for a non-Irish person and still have good tasting tea. I like this tea for my afternoon break - if my regular tea isn't available.

This tea, to my tongue, is bitter and grainy. I was disappointed after reading some good reviews. I guess there is a tea for everyone!

This tea is a specialty item in our grocery store and highly over priced because they import it from Ireland (or so they claim.) It is a good, average tea but not worth the price they want.

Your standard, full flavored, "meaty" morning tea. A fine value at $.10/bag, and a cut above the bagged saw dust in your office break room.

This tea is really good. It has an awesome malty flavor that really hits the spot. I added cream and sugar. I'm impressed because it was the cheapest brand of tea bags at the store. Amazing value.

Update: I used to like this tea a lot, but my tastes have changed since then and now I just think it's pretty good, but...

We love the Tetley Iced Tea Blend! It is less bitter than other iced tea blends and it has the most wonderful flavor, no lemons added, in our house.
I add sugar while the tea is still warm, stir until dissolved then pour over ice. Tetley Iced Tea Blend is the only iced tea we drink now.

I find this tea to have a more "sophisticated" flavor than other types of black teas. It's more complex and diverse in flavors as you sip. Aside from the caffeine doing its job, the flavors alone wake me up when I drink it.

Brewing too long (which I tend to do) makes it quite bitter. The tea bag says brew for fou...

Bought a box of this from Smart & Final about three years ago. At that point, ANYTHING was better than Lipton so even Bromley looked exotic to me. Not all bad, but very generic. Took two bags to get a good 8-ounce cuppa. Kind of a rustic, tannic mid-palette that is strange but appealing.

This is my bedtime tea. Every single night without fail. It's become such a routine for me that trying any other tea would likely interrupt my sleep patterns! The decaff version of the British Blend is less bitter than its big brother, allowing me to infuse it with a dash of honey to taste.

When it comes to basic black tea, Tetley British Blend is the base of most of my blending. It's also the one tea that I drink every single night before bedtime (decaff without milk). Lovely aroma, moderately bitter. I spice it with a touch of honey sometimes. Great value as well.

Dry leaf is obvious CTC, finely broken. Upon brewing, however, I am more impressed with this tea. Brews an opaque light brown color, light in color for a black tea of this strength and body.

I recommend a 1 minute infusion, as this tea infuses very quickly.

Very full-bodied tea, rich and heavy. Aroma is comple...

Nice smooth, full bodied, malty, and a light briskness. Reminds me very much of Rishi Tea's Golden Yunnan Organic Black Tea, but a bit lighter on peppery tones. It is a beautiful blend of Dian Hong style tea (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dian_hong_tea) mixing whole leaf top-quality tea and a high content of fine go...

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 22nd, 2011

This is one of the most unusual "Russian Caravan" type teas I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Its name originates from the 18th century camel caravans that facilitated the transcontinental tea trade from tea-producing areas (namely India, Ceylon and China) to Europe via Russia. Although it is primarily considere...

Sep. 15th, 2011

This has been my favorite brand of tea over 30 years. I first drank Typhoo Tea in my student days in England. I have tried other British and Irish teas, but have always come back to Typhoo.

This is a strong breakfast tea, but with more flavor and strength than teas called 'English Breakfast' in the US. It is not a...

Moderate strength, relatively full-bodied, but considerably less bitter than typical for an English breakfast.

I think I prefer the green and white teas from Revolution tea, but this one was not bad.

Pricey though, for the quality. Revolution's other teas, in my opinion, deliver something more unique whereas thi...

Irish Breakfast Tea Bags from Taylors of Harrogate

Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend

67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Sep. 8th, 2011

This is the dark, bitter brother to Taylor's Scottish breakfast tea. Blended to be drunk with milk, it is a real eye opener if you try it alone. Hearty rather than robust, it makes a pretty decent cup with some malty flavor and only a tiny bit of brightness.

I bought 20 bags for about $3 at a local import store, wh...

Scottish Breakfast Tea Bags from Taylors of Harrogate

Sep. 8th, 2011

Although I don't typically drink my tea with milk or sweetener, Scottish Breakfast Teas are blended with this in mind so I tried mine both plain and with the milk and sweetener. When drinking plain, the tea is so robust, dark and malty that the flavors were completely overpowering, but with a touch of milk and agave th...

My go-to tea bag when I don't want to bother with loose. I think it is the best of the teabag teas. It is consistent and always good. It is a basic breakfast blend and as such, does well. You cannot compare it with loose leaf tea, only with other bags.

Aug. 2nd, 2011

If you want a very basic tea, Luzianne delivers. I like it for a general black tea, or for making iced tea using hot tea bags. It provides consistent flavor that is as black tea should be, with nothing fancy.

You can find it on sale from time to time, but it's not too expensive normally. It is comparable to Lipto...

Jul. 24th, 2011

This is a really nice everyday black tea of moderate price and good quality. I am really picky about my Ceylon teas, like the 'Ceylon Sonata' that they use in this blend, and it is actually much improved in flavor by the 'Assam Melody' that they blend with it.

You get the typical nice robust aroma and flavor with t...
