Original Blend Russian Caravan from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Russian Caravan – Region: Blend55 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 28th, 2020
The aroma is very mild. Liquor has an amber appearance. Flavor is mild. I'm a bit underwhelmed by this tea. I was expecting it to be stronger on all front. I will not bother with this particular blend again.

Irish Breakfast from Fortnum & Mason
Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Mar. 12th, 2020
Having never had Irish Breakfast tea before I was a bit taken aback when I opened the container to not find tea leaves, but little pellets like the low cost tea my brother buys! Having imported it all the way here I was really disappointed until I brewed some and discovered it makes the best milk tea ever.
This i...

Royal Blend from Fortnum & Mason
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 11th, 2020
A rather strong and sharp tea that suits milk tea very well. I tend to mix this with other teas to make their flavor more mild. It’s my go to if I just want rich delicious milk tea with honey.

Decaffeinated Breakfast Tea Bags from Taylors of Harrogate
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend51 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 2nd, 2020
Dry, this tea smells like a Lipton teabag, which is potentially promising. I've yet to find a decaffeinated black tea that actually tastes like tea.
After adding water, a hint of earthiness comes through. The dominant aroma is the same wet paper smell that I now realize is a hallmark of decaffeinated black tea. The ...

English Breakfast from Lipton Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend54 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 11th, 2020
I bring news! Whether it's good news or not is up to the reader. This tea, as a brand with the same name, is not retired after all, as of Feb. 2020. Instead, it has found its way to the food-service division of Unilever, Lipton's corporate overlord. I'll upload a photo of its newest packaging separately. I was abl...

Organic Autumn Harvest Black Tea from Trader Joe's
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend69 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 6th, 2020
This is not to be confused with the apparently much-better-known Trader Joe's "Harvest Blend" herbal tea, which is a completely different product. Instead, this black tea came in a 10-bag sealed wrapper, tucked into one of four squares of a wooden gift box. The outside paper wrapper of the gift box describes all four...

Upton South Street Breakfast Blend from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend65 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Jan. 6th, 2020
This is a new entry in Upton's growing list of breakfast blends; it was created as on of their 30th anniversary specials. It is not as robust or malty as some breakfast blends, but not extra mild either - it falls somewhere in the middle. This has a little nip to it. The price is a little high.

Storm Watcher from Murchie's Tea & Coffee Ltd
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend81 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Dec. 17th, 2019
Being in Oklahoma, the name of this seasonal tea intrigued me a lot, even though the storms inspiring it are cold, wet wintertime blasts on the British Columbia coast, instead of southern Plains severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Then again, that makes sense. What would tornado tea be, and would it even matter? The...

English Breakfast from Revolution Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 2nd, 2019
The next entry from a Revolution variety pack delivered one of the strangest experiences I've had with a tea. Sniffing the dry bag (pyramid sachet) rendered an unmistakably familiar aroma that took me many tries to recall its specific origin. "Sniff, sniff, sniff...I know this...sniff, sniff, sniff...where have I sme...

Yorkshire Tea Traditional from Yorkshire Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend64 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 1st, 2019
Yorkshire is a basic, moderately strong, reasonably tasty, unassuming black-tea blend—nothing special, but still just bold enough to sneak into the upper 40th percentile of bagged black teas I've had.
The dry-bag aroma and in-cup smell and taste can be described the same way: plain, short on standout notes or c...

Black Label Breakfast Fannings from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend85 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Nov. 24th, 2019
This tea has an 'earthy woodsy' aroma. Fannings grade so it is a powder, a pound filled the large storage canister to the top. The liquor is a nice medium brown. Good flavor with no after taste. I will buy this tea again.

Original Blend from Lyons
Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend78 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 17th, 2019
I'm on a quest to try all the Irish teas, and Lyon's was on the list. I hear there is a rivalry of sorts between Lyon's and Barry's and I can see why. Both are quite good and I would be happy to drink either.
Lyon's is similar to Barry's Gold blend, and I found it to be a tad smoother, and Barry's to be a little bri...

English Breakfast Tea Bags from Murchie's Tea & Coffee Ltd
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend64 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 14th, 2019
This arrived as a member of a sampler pack that I ordered, to try some Murchie's offerings not yet chugged.
While pleasant and reasonably robust, it still is probably the mildest black tea I've tried (loose or bagged) from Murchie's, which says more about the strength of their other teas than any glaring deficienc...

Bold Breakfast from Dunkin Donuts
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
May. 31st, 2019
I bought a cup of this from a Dunkin Donuts and liked it, so I bought a box to brew at home. The sachets are large and each contains 3g of finely-chopped tea. The box doesn't say which teas are in the blend (other than "from around the World"), but the tea looks orthodox rather than CTC.
The brewing tea has a strong...

Special English Breakfast from Harney and Sons
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend90 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

I really like this tea. It doesn't overpower with a single flavor, indicative of a good blend.

Royal Blend from Fortnum & Mason
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 27th, 2019
This has a smooth, rich flavor, although with a touch of sharpness (short steeping time is better). It practically begs to have milk added, which I don't typically do. Taken black, I find it a little lacking in sweetness. The aroma comes more from the Ceylon and is pleasantly nutty, while the Assam ensures a malty fini...

English Breakfast from Stash Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend56 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

The most notable aspect of the flavor is that it's tannic, although not overly so. Still, it lacks much else to recommend it. I'd rather it had a bit more citrus to balance it, but there's just not a lot to it.
This strikes me as a tea perhaps intended for coffee drinkers looking to switch it up. It's also mild en...

English Breakfast (Black Tea Signature Collection) from Wissotzky
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Blend55 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 21st, 2019
This has a pleasant, earthy aroma that fades too quickly once you drink it. I was let down by the fairly bland taste. It's labeled as a blend of Ceylon and Indian teas; the Ceylon taste comes through the strongest and there isn't much to it past that.
It's acceptable with some additions, but I doubt I'd get it agai...

Richmond Park Blend from Upton Tea Imports

A good all-purpose, pretty mellow black tea. This blend of Keemun, Ceylon, and Darjeeling is a notch above supermarket teas.

A smooth and enjoyable tea. Not as hearty as claimed, but it is not wimpy either. Good with milk or with lemon and sugar. Worth the bargain price.

TB05: Mincing Lane Breakfast Blend from Upton Tea Imports
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I usually enjoy Upton's British style tea blends and this is no exception. The mix of malty Assam with a lightly smoky Yunnan makes a super all-around tea. It is good with milk, or in a masala chai, and lemon and sugar, while eccentric, also works.

Breakfast Blend (Morning Rise) from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend95 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

It's a very good tea without anything that makes it stand out. Just a well balanced blend.
I would like to try this loose-leaf.

Scottish Breakfast from Adagio Teas

My favorite breakfast tea. Less earthy than Adagio's English Breakfast tea, and smoother. Sadly, a little bit costly.

River Shannon Breakfast Blend from Upton Tea Imports

This is called an Irish breakfast, but for my tastebuds it seemed closer to an English breakfast or even a mainstream prebagged tea. It is pretty versatile and mellow. It goes best with milk but can take lemon or be used for masala also. Good.
