Black Dragon Pearls from Adagio Teas
Style: Yunnan Red – Region: Yunnan, China79 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 11th, 2018
Overall, this is a very decent tea.
The smell is very nice but is just like a typical black tea.
The flavor is very nice and is almost like a less malty Irish breakfast tea with cocoa notes. The tea is naturally sweet and also very smooth and creamy. I re-steep this tea 4 times(western brewing) using less than 3 gra...
Sleeping Dragon from Adagio Teas
Style: Green Tea – Region: Fujian, China40 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 11th, 2018
Overall this was not a great tea at all. I used no sugar and steeped for just above 2 minutes at 170 degrees. Although I fiddled the temperature around with no success.
The tea smells nice and is almost fruity.
Everything comes crashing down in the flavor though. It tastes like I took old vegetable broth and poured i...
Peach Oolong (Peachy Oolong) from Adagio Teas
Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa85 / 100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 11th, 2018
Possibly not the best tea for you based on the other ratings on this tea. But I found it to be spectacular! It is a much darker oolong and could even be mistaken for a black tea by a non-enthusiast. It has an extremely peachy smell when you open up the box that flows through your nose. The taste is not very complex, an...

A very spicy, gingery black tea with a burst of coconut. The cinnamon and ginger both blend into a strong spicy kick!

This is truly a seamless blend, as Adagio calls it, of their Ceylon Sonata and Assam Melody teas. It stands up well to milk and sugar, but doesn't *need* it as some Irish Breakfast teas do.

A lifelong fan of traditional black Darjeelings, I was intrigued by the idea of a Darjeeling oolong. Directions called for steeping 2 heaping teaspoons per cup, 212F/100C, 3-4 minutes. I went with 4 level teaspoons (3 grams) per 8 fluid ounces, 212F/100C, 4 minutes. I liked the fruity-floral flavor and expect that fans...

A beautiful smell of peppermint and chamomile. The vanilla enhances the sweet scent. This mixture of chamomile, rooibos and peppermint create a relaxing yet delicious experience!

This is one of our go-to evening teas. The peppermint flavor is nice, not too strong, not too mild, and refreshing on spring and summer evenings. The blend of rooibos and chamomile make for a a mild background flavor that is not too floral or too grassy.

I'm not a fan of the "grassy" flavored green teas, and this one has that fresh scent without reminding me of newly mown grass. The flavor is medium bodied, when I steep for 3-4 minutes, not overpowering or bitter, A nice green tea for a mostly black and oolong drinker

I like the mild peach flavor that doesn't overpower the oolong flavor of this tea. It is reasonably priced, and shipped in a foil lined pouch so that it remains fresh. The smell when you first open the bag is amazing, and the tea has a similar flavor

This is a delicious tea. I got it as a free sample with an Adagio order I made some time ago. It's meant to be a "gift" tea, so unlike most of their teas the only size appears to be 4 ounces. That's annoying to me, as I enjoy the ability to get small samples from Adagio to try what I like first.

Rooibos Vanilla Chai from Adagio Teas
Style: Rooibos Chai / Spiced Rooibos – Region: ?????70 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 8th, 2017
It's not bad, but it isn't the tastiest blend I've ever had. The rooibos, the spice, and the vanilla are all there, but I think the black tea chais tend to be preferable. The sweet and spice are indeed nice, so it's certainly worth a shot. It also holds up decently well to repeated steepings.

I very much like this tea, it is one of my favorite "base" or "default" Ceylons that is sold by any major tea company.
Before steeping, the leaf is aromatic and has a pleasant malty aroma, like an Assam but less fruity.
Flavor is crisp. The cup is very aromatic, mostly malty but with light roasty/toasty notes. ...
Rooibos Lemon Cloud from Adagio Teas
Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: Blend83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 24th, 2017
I like this herbal tea. The rooibos is solid and smooth. The lemon blends well with it, though fairly subtle. The stronger flavor, which I notice after each sip, is of marshmallow. Hence, it's more sweet than citrusy. It's able to get a couple of quite good cups.

This tea exhibits a pure, delicate flavor -- essentially what every white tea is described as by the company that sells it. It has no bitterness and a smooth flavor. When in the mood for a straightforward, pure tea that isn't grassy, this is a nice choice.
To prepare this tea, I used the Chinese method I was shown a...
Earl Grey Lavender from Adagio Teas

The lavender isn't overpowering at all, but it gives the tea a soothing and soft aroma. It's hearty and not bitter.

This is a fantastic iced tea that kept good flavor on rebrewing - when filling my pitcher I brew a quart with 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon, then use the same leaves on a second quart. It smells pleasantly peachy and not artificial at all, and it tastes sweet and a little bitter and astringent. A 3 oz bag has produced many...

It smells fantastic, which gets you very excited to take a sip...but the flavor just isn't quite there at all. It tasted very smooth but not very strongly, and it was mostly sweet and a little bitter. I drank it straight, and tried it both hot and cold (it's pretty good on ice.)
I took to using a little more than I ...
Peach Oolong (Peachy Oolong) from Adagio Teas
Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Taiwan / Formosa73 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

As a big peach flavor fan, I was a bit disappointed how weak the peachy flavor was - not nearly as strong as their black peach tea. It smells deliciously peachy but the flavor just isn't quite there. It still tastes good, but if you really want that fruit flavor (and I do!) I'd suggest something else.

I got this as a free sample with my last order from Adagio. I've been quite impressed so far. For an inexpensive tea, it has a great complexity of flavor. Overall it has a slight astringency, but not too much. Very typical assam flavor profile with perhaps a bit more of a bite. Not strong astringency, but just a more d...

High quality tea but quite expensive. Can easily get two infusions of great tasting tea. Recommend adding teaspoon of Tupelo honey. My favorite of all teas.

This tea is rich and bold with slightly sweet fruity smell and taste. I would say the most prominent taste comparison would be cinnamon or allspice. It reminds me a little of Italian super Tuscans.
I have tried many of the Adagio black teas and this and the black pearls are my two favorite.
Assam Melody from Adagio Teas
Style: Assam – Region: Assam, India57 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Oct. 18th, 2015
The aroma is grassy and fruity, but it doesn't stand out much. I found that steeping it for 3 minutes made it too watery for my taste. 5 minutes is better, but then the flavor is to some extent dominated by bitterness. I guess the tea just doesn't have much flavor, which is fine -- it's still smooth and comfortable ove...

I should preface this by saying that I do not particularly enjoy black tea in general. Usually I drink white and green tea. That being said, I do enjoy this once in a while. The aroma is mild and somewhat nutty. The flavor is full and very smooth with almost no astringency. There are also undertones of nuts (perhaps ha...
