A friend who knows the owners of Rishi brewed a cup of this then gave me a sample to take home. I brewed some for friends who normally will only drink Oolong -- they loved it too.

I loved this tea although I'm not usually crazy about green. It avoided the planty, health-food associations I usually make with green teas. Instead, there was a lovely, rather robust fragrance, almost floral. This is probably the one green that I will stock in my tea cupboard.

This one just sounded bizarre to me, but when I smelled the dry leaf, it started to make more sense to me, and when I finally tasted it I understood fully! =) It brews a very dark opaque red, just like Rishi describes. The aroma is very complex but in a way I haven't experienced before.

Wow. I love the aroma of this tea...it is much more vegetal than most black teas, clean and fresh, and yet warm too. Smooth and yet relatively full-bodied, but thin relative to some breakfast teas. No astringency.

Darker among oolongs, but very mellow. The aroma is very warm, rich, and complex, with some roast, a hint of smokiness, and some tones of grain. The aroma is very complex, with some grassy tones and some sharpness. Simultaneously clean and rich tasting.
