Why? Forgive my neglect. I've been missing out. I won't speak for other shops' renditions yet, but Murchie's has a championship-caliber blend going here.

Maybe some of it was reading that many Scottish Breakfasts are smoky, and that's generally a turn-off for me. This one, however, only had faint, discontinuous, and unimposing hints of that in flavor, cup aroma, and dry-bag smell, much ...

Review of Scottish Breakfast by Derick

My favorite breakfast tea. Less earthy than Adagio's English Breakfast tea, and smoother. Sadly, a little bit costly.

Review of Scottish Breakfast Blend by Trailesque

A very malty tea that is just right with milk. Very enjoyable and nicely priced.

Review of Scottish Breakfast by Brytta Sóþword

This is a solid breakfast tea. I’m often not into plain black teas — especially of the “breakfast” variety. They often come off as too bitter or astringent. This tea, however, is smooth with a nice complexity. I like it a bit more than Adagio’s Irish breakfast. As of this review, I’ve never tried their English breakfast, but I still suspect this will be my favorite among the “breakfast” group.

The tea provides a solid, lingering caffeine effect without a “buzz” feeling. I tried it pl...

Review of Scottish Breakfast by Heather Z.

This tea is very good for a typical black tea. At around 20 cents per cup, it is a pretty decent value. It is very thick bodied and strong and it's a great tea to start my morning off with! It is also really interesting because, although its very similar to an english breakfast tea, it's slightly smokier and has a great flavor.

Review of Scottish Breakfast Tea Bags by Justin Walters

To be honest, I didn't personally care for this tea :/ I mean this tea was a great value considering each box contains a whopping 55 bags compared to twinning's 20, but the flavor just wasn't there for me. The taste was rather bitter, but not in a strong and robust way, but almost like pool water. like chlorine. I can see how some could appreciate this blend of tea, but currently I'm just concerned about what I'm to do with the remaining 54 bags of tea :(

Review of Scottish Breakfast by Cissy

One of my favorite teas. Great in the morning. It has peaty, slightly smokey overtones, reminiscent of a good Scotch. Moderately priced if you're looking for something special and a little bit different from other breakfast teas. I drink it with a little milk but it's good just plain black as well.

Review of Scottish Breakfast by Alex Zorach

This tea was extraordinary and was one of the best blended teas I've ever tried. I do tend to really like Scottish Breakfast as a style of tea, and this was an unparalleled example of such.

The dry leaf has a pleasing aroma with a light hint of smoke, just what I'd expect: noticeable, but a bit less than in a Russian caravan blend and much less than a smokey Lapsang Souchong.

Upon brewing, the cup produces a very complex aroma, a little bit like a single-malt scotch. There is a light hint of smoke ...

Review of Scottish Breakfast Blend by Alex Zorach

This was an absolutely delightful tea that was definitely my favorite blend from Upton and one of my favorites among all black tea blends. The perfect balance of strength and smoothness.

Dry leaf is finely broken but has a very pleasant aroma, and quite complex. There are notes of malt and fruit, especially the fruity qualities I normally find in Assam, and there are also woody notes.

Brews up a beautiful, thick reddish-brown cup that I find very comforting to drink. Very bold up-front, full-bodie...

Review of Scottish Breakfast Tea Bags by Smithy

There's nothing subtle about this. Taylor's Scottish Breakfast is a stonkingly big, powerful brew which packs a wallop. An Assam and African blend, the malty Assam is right at the forefront and the African side of things is probably Kenyan, so the whole blend is a very malty affair. It also has a sizeable caffeine hit, in fact I would hazard a guess that it's one of the biggest caffeine hits from a generally available tea out there. This is a very good cold weather tea, the perfect accompliment to a cooked...

Review of Scottish Breakfast Blend by Alex

Pretty good breakfast blend, although it wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be.

Review of Scottish Breakfast (Loose Leaf) by Alex Zorach

Dry leaf is obvious CTC, finely broken. Upon brewing, however, I am more impressed with this tea. Brews an opaque light brown color, light in color for a black tea of this strength and body.

I recommend a 1 minute infusion, as this tea infuses very quickly.

Very full-bodied tea, rich and heavy. Aroma is complex: deep and malty, but with some high-grown character, tones of rice, wintergreen, and citrus. Flavor is not terribly bitter, but unusually sour. I dislike the sourness, but I found the com...

Review of Scottish Breakfast Tea Bags by E. When drinking plain, the tea is so robust, dark and malty that the flavors were completely overpowering, but with a touch of milk and agave the flavors smooth out nicely and really make a nice cup of tea.

I have never had a Scottish breakfast blend with African teas in the mix, and have to say the Assam is definitely in the fore...
