Loose-leaf First Flush Darjeeling Tea, Castleton Estate, DJ2

Tea leaves with greenish, olive, and silvery colors, with irregular, gently curved shapesView Full Resolution

This photo shows loose-leaf first flush Darjeeling tea from Castleton estate, a well-known tea garden in Darjeeling. It is designated DJ2, meaning second lot.

Although the color is more uniformly green than mixed-flush Darjeeling teas, there is still considerably variability of color and shape in the mix here. The down buds appear silvery, whereas the leaves are darker in color. Even the leaves show a variability from bright green to olive in color.
