About Deqing, Zhejiang, China

Déqīng(德清) is a county located in Zhejiang province of China. It is part of Huzhou, a prefecture-level city, and is the southernmost county in this prefecture, which is the northernmost prefecture in Zhejiang. The Deqing region is a more rural, but somewhat developed area located between the urbanized areas of Hangzhou to the south, and Huzhou to the north. The eastern part of the county is flatter and mostly developed for agriculture, whereas the western part is mountainous and less developed.

Tea is produced here in the area around Moganshan (Mogan mountain), mostly green tea but also including yellow tea. The county is also known for farming snakes, which are both eaten in restaurants and used in traditional medicine.
