Dry leaf has an interesting aroma, almost like overripe fruit.
Brewed cup is a deep, dark color for a green tea, and has a savory quality and a full body. Very full-flavored, but milder aroma, which is somewhat neutral, with a weak fruity and floral quality.
Almost minty finish. I also detect tones of ginger. But subdued aroma.
Very pleasing to drink! I did not find this to be much like a dragonwell / lung ching. I can perhaps see how one would say it has tones of chestnut, but overall, this tea is very different...I think of lung ching as a lighter, fresher tea whereas this one seems deeper and darker to me.
Very interesting...if you like trying different Chinese green teas, I recommend trying this if you get the opportunity.
