Beautiful, intense green-yellow leaves produce a rich, golden-green infusion that is very clear. Dry leaf looks like dragonwell in appearance. Upon brewing, the leaf loses its yellowish color and becomes lighter in color, almost grayish. The leaf looks very delicate.
Aroma is surprisingly strong and fresh. Grassy and toasty, and initially suggestive of dragonwell, but upon sipping it, it develops into something completely different. I do detect an orchid-like aroma, and it develops and becomes stronger upon drinking the cup. Flavor is extremely smooth but also complex...lightly sweet and with a greater savory or umami character than most green teas.
I am very impressed! I wish I had had more of this to sample. I will say, the leaf is bursting with flavor and you only need a tiny amount. Wild Tea Qi recommends 3 grams per cup and I used a bit less than this for Western-style brewing, and the results were still delightful.
Among one of the best green teas I have tried in some time. I only give a 3 in value because the company's websites does not identify quantity when buying this tea, which I think is shady.

Thanks for the great review. Actually at the time you reviewed this we were undergoing a new web design, but now the proper quantities are available on the website. Let me know if you want more samples.
