Commercial Description
We are pleased to have a quality offering from this estate back in stock. The smooth, dark cup has a fruity aroma and medium body, with a pleasing hint of malty sweetness.

A very strong Assam, stronger than Upton's description makes it sound. Very full flavor: fairly bitter, slightly sour, very savory, and even slightly salty. Aroma is spicy, suggesting allspice and black pepper. Also a bit smoky, with some fruity tones as well. Peppery finish.
Interesting, but a bit too strong for me, especially flavor-wise, brewed as instructed. I settled on using a little more leaf than recommended, but only steeping for 90 seconds or less. I found that this brewing method brought out some of the nuances of aroma, in a way that they were less obscured by the strong and heavy qualities of the flavor.
I imagine this tea could make an outstanding base for a masala chai.
