Very different from any other green tea I've tried. Spicy aroma, complex...some fruity qualities, but aroma is mostly of spice. Very full-bodied, rich in flavor...tangy and yet without being heavy or too sour. Not very bitter and only a little astringent. I'm not tasting the "maltiness" in the description.
Among green teas this tea most closely resembles an unidentified Laos green tea that I had a while ago, although it's even quite different from that tea.
This tea is not cheap, but it is so flavorful that you can get away with using less leaf than recommended, and brewing for a shorter time and for multiple infusions. I actually think it offers remarkably good value when considering how flavorful and complex it is.
