Earl Grey Full Leaf from Tazo Tea

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

I wanted to try another Earl Grey to make sure I properly gave that flavor a shot: I'm now more sure that black teas aren't my bag.

I think that someone who actually likes black tea (especially with a slight bitterness) would find this one pleasant. The bergamot and lavender work well together, both as a flavor and ...

I really want to go camping…

Method: 1.5 tsp @ 208 degrees for 3 minutes in 8 oz., French Press

Dry Leaf Aroma: Smoke, Ginger Ale, and Cream Ale. Not ginger or cream. Specifically ginger ale and cream ale. Crazy!

Brewing Aroma: The smoke calmed way down. I can smell the black tea and a very subtle sweetness....

I had the opportunity to try this a long time ago, but the tea bag wasn't terribly fresh, so I waited to review it again. This time I got a fresh, individually sealed tea bag from my friend Anna--thank you!

This tea does have a hint of bergamot but it's just a hint, so little I almost couldn't notice it, so it tast...

Earl Grey from Twinings

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????

70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5

This tea reminds me a bit of Twinings' Russian Caravan: a nice but smoothy black tea, naturally sweet.
Earl Grey has some bergamot and vanilla notes too.

Aroma and flavor are basically of lemon, but is kind of a neutral thing. It's not tart or sour and it never comes bitter; actually, it's kind of sweet. There are some floral notes too.
At least it's a cheap tea, I would say it's of a fair value.

The perfect soothing tea for relaxation and a good alternative to classic chamomile tea. The scent instantly calms my most anxious moments. In terms of flavor, the herbal lavender mellows out the tang of the lemongrass. You need to use an extremely fine, industrial-grade strainer since the tiny lemongrass slivers tend ...

Earl Grey from Red Rose Tea

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
May. 28th, 2014

A very citrusy Earl Grey, surprisingly good for an inexpensive tea bag, and I think the best I've tried yet from Red Rose.

The tea bag smells of lemon and orange, and has visible bits of citrus peel.

Brewing for 3 minutes with boiling water, produces a rich, malty cup. The bergamot flavoring blends into the othe...

The aroma of this tea is very sweet and creamy with extremely strong spices. The cinnamon and cloves really overpower the rest of the aromas, but there is a faint hint of malt, pumpkin, and caramel under the potent spices.

The initial impact of the taste is a tingly and numb feeling from the spices, it is a little o...

This was my first month of Handmade Tea. I could barely smell and taste the lemon, but I still like this tea. I added a little sugar and I liked the result. I thought this tea had a lovely mild flavor. I’m going to try this as a cold brew later. I may add a little extra lemon and see how that goes.

This tea didn't wow me. I could taste the autumnal spices, but I didn't think they were really strong enough. I believe a tea with cinnamon and cloves should have a good, strong flavor. I received this in a tea swap, and maybe it's just the wrong time to be drinking this, also. I think my mind is in spring-mode!

I am kind of mixed about this one. On it’s own, it tasted kind of plain, though I did get a little kick at the end. Then I looked up what it actually was and suddenly, I could taste a little cocoa.

So on the one hand, I feel like I should have been able to taste the flavors without knowing what it was. But maybe s...

My tea preferences:
Black Tea: lighter teas + milk & 1 sugar

When I first smelled and sipped this tea I could hardly believe that it came from a tea bag rather than a pot of loose leaf. The tea is light, well rounded and sweet, and the aroma is not overpowering. One of my favorite things is that when the tea bag ...

I made this for my Mom today, since she was visiting. I know she likes mint, but normally I do not, so I figured she would be able to really appreciate this. I brewed it at 208 degrees for 5 minutes. I added about a tsp of rock sugar, but no milk.

My Mom really liked this! It smelled so great that I took a sip a...

If tea had a gender, I would call this a manly tea. The dry tea smells woody, and I could pick out some hints of grape. Not sure where that came from. There's a warm vanilla scent, and an unidentified note that I believe is the saffron.

The brewed tea smells warm, and reminds me of a cozy night spent reading in...

Wow, what a tea! I was a little worried because the dry tea smelled like chocolate, but there was also a sharp scent I couldn’t quite identify. Once steeped, I could just smell the chocolate. Yum.

I greatly prefer this EG to Adagio's Earl Grey Moonlight. This is a basic EG, and that's ok by me. The tea has a good aroma and flavor, but without being overpowering. I'd call this one solid.

I had the sugar and milk out, but it didn't need either. This was great on its own and I can see this being a tea I drink a...

May. 7th, 2014

I'm going to stop drinking the Kusmi teas for awhile because every time I open the little tin, they smell amazing, but after steeping, there's not much aroma, and not much overall flavor. Maybe these need to be sweetened to bring out more flavor. I will try that next.

I do think that if something is called "Spic...

I hope this isn't going to be the trend with Kusmi teas. I'm glad I bought the smaller sampler sizes and I hope I'm going to find at least a few that are winners for me!

This flavored tea has a nice aroma, but I'm missing the mango when I taste it.

The tea was brewed for 5 minutes. It really just tastes like a plain black tea. It's not bad, but if I wanted a plain black tea, that's what I would have purchased.

The scent of this tea is lovely, full of citrus, floral and vanilla notes; however, the flavor is mostly floral and there is an unpleasant aftertaste.

This was steeped using boiling water for about 3 minutes. The flavor was barely there, so I left it for another minute at at 4 minutes, it seemed better.

I'm bummed about this one. I'm glad I bought a small sample size to try. The un brewed and brewed aromas are excellent, but the flavor is lacking.

This was brewed as directed. I used boiling water in the French press for 3 min. That seemed too short for a black tea, so I sampled and it was weak. Let it go to 4.5 mi...

This tea smells amazing before steeping. Kind of a herbal/citrus scent. But after brewing, it just smells ok. Less herbal, more citrus, but very light on even that scent.

The taste is just ok. I don't hate it. I don't love it. I wouldn't buy again because I don't love it. I don't taste much citrus. This taste...

This could be a new fave! The unbrewed tea aroma is amazeballs. Stepped for 5 min with boiling water, there was no bitterness here.

The cherry flavor is pleasantly noticeable, without being overpowering. The base black tea they use seems like the perfect showcase for the cherry flavor. I wish I had some of this...
