Apple Refresh from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend40 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 28th, 2014
Of all four of Ahmad's fruit-flavored black teas, this is the one I liked the least. It has a fairly artificial apple flavoring...it does not smell at all like an actual apple, but rather, like the "green apple" candy flavor, familiar to me from my childhood.
I don't know if Ahmad uses a different base tea for thei...
Mango Ceylon from Republic of Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend60 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 26th, 2014
I like the convenience of RoT's round brown tea bags - and Mango Ceylon is a fruity, good-tasting choice - but I much prefer the ginger peach. Makes a good iced tea.

Meh. Again, I was underwhelmed by this tea from Twinings. Like their Earl Grey tea, I certainly appreciated the use of citrus to balance out the black tea. However, I found the overall effect unimpressive. I really need to try a high quality Earl Grey or Lady Grey tea to give these styles a fair shot. I'm glad I have a...

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

A medium-bodied Earl Grey, tending slightly towards the perfumey side of aroma, less towards citrus. The base tea is rich and malty, and brews a clear red-orange liquor.
Light to moderate bitterness; I get the sense that that there's less of the fresh, biting bitterness coming from the bergamot, and more of a muted...
Lemon & Lime Twist from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend90 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 21st, 2014
I think this is by far the best lemon tea I've had in a bag! I really can't wait to get more.
Because it's atypical of me to like any type of flavored tea, especially lemon, I feel that my liking this tea *a lot* is substantial.
I brewed it on the light side for 3 minutes, and was elated with the results: a f...
Strawberry Sensation Black Tea from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 21st, 2014
Aroma is, well, very strawberry-ey. Smells initially like strawberry and little else, a little like strawberry jam or strawberry shortcake...not so much like fresh strawberries.
The base tea is not as evident, aroma-wise, but it shines through in the flavor: bold, with a bit of bite. Brews a rich brown color, but ...
Cinnamon Tempest from Trader Joe's
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 21st, 2014
Thank you Jenna for sharing this one with me.
I thought this was impressive, a few steps up in quality from Trader Joe's other teas. The tea bag smells strongly of cinnamon, but it's a very natural, organic-smelling cinnamon, like real cinnamon sticks, not like most flavored teas. The orange and clove is only a hi...
Winter Spice Cake from Octavia Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Feb. 20th, 2014
I thought this blend had too many different flavors in it, and they did not seem to blend well. It's like an orange spice tea, with added vanilla, rose, and almond. Vanilla and almond blend well, orange and spice blend well, but I find that all together, the flavors conflict. Combine this with a weak base tea and yo...

An interesting change of pace; not my favorite.
Much more lime than lemon in the aroma; this is no standard lemon black tea. The base tea is bold, strong, and malty. The overall effect is a very edgy cup, completely unlike how adding lemon usually takes the edge off a strong black tea.
Nice, and interesting, bu...
Peach & Passion Fruit from Ahmad Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Feb. 13th, 2014
It's a select group of fruit-flavored teas that I like, and it's even less frequent that there's an inexpensive one in a tea bag that is among my favorites--but this is one of these teas.
Aroma is fruity but pungent and deep; the fruitiness is not transient or fleeting, but rather is persistent, and accompanied by d...
Hot Sweet Cinnamon from Art of Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend43 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 3/5
Feb. 12th, 2014
The aroma is loaded with cinnamon and spices with a hint of liqueur. The brewed tea smells a lot like Red Hot candies, tons of sweet cinnamon with a hint of orange and black tea.
The taste is, well kinda painful. Way too much cinnamon and cloves make it bitter, artificial, and mouth numbing. The taste of the base t...

Thank you to my friend Liz for sharing this one with me. Take my review in the context that I tend not to like fruit-flavored tea bags, so although my rating number is not great, this is actually a pretty positive review: I'm comparing it against all my favorite loose-leaf artisan teas.

Mango Maui Black Tea from Hawaiian Islands Tea Company
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend53 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5

Smells great - a strong fruity Mango/Tropical scent but doesn't taste nearly as good as it sounds/smells. In fact - if yuou sweeten it it is cloying and "fakey-mango".
I got this for free from my mother-in-law who visited Hawaii. I don;t think I'd go out of my way to seek this brand out, nor purchase it.
Too bad...
English Afternoon from Ahmad Tea
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend57 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 28th, 2014
I am not a fan or Earl Grey - and I could not tell by the tea-bag packet (sachet) that this would have an orangey-citursy-bergamotlike twang to it. As a result, I like the other Ahmads I have tried better (English Breakfast).
Decent - but not a fave.
Cinnamon Tempest from Trader Joe's

This alluring, red tin, contains a personality be prepared to help you accomplish long nights of work or study.
It will be the best friend to an orange-cranberry scone, but it won't be your cat's; for this tea is spicy, bitter, slightly sweet, and aromatic. Perhaps the best deterrent to your cat's habit of jumping o...

I'm not sure if this product was discontinued or unavailable during a certain time of the year. I made my purchase in October 2013, rearing up for apple cider, pumpkin pie, and spooky nights.
Quite a disappointment. It lacks the spicy, seasonal flavor I was hoping it would embody. It's not a very acidic tea, nor bit...
Vanilla Bean from Mighty Leaf Tea
Style: Vanilla Black Tea – Region: Blend47 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Jan. 24th, 2014
This tea has, unsurprisingly, a distinctly 'black tea lightly sweetened with vanilla' aroma. (In fact, the only other ingredient listed is "natural flavors".) In general, I like the simplicity of its design. After tasting it, I'm a fan of the vanilla, but I think I may not be a black tea person. I prefer teas that don'...

A solid British-style Earl Grey, smooth and easy to drink. I'm excited that I finally got to try a loose-leaf tea from Fortnum and Mason. I have been unimpressed by their tea bags, but their loose-leaf is definitely a step up in quality.
Broken-leaf with a classic Earl Grey aroma, both of the dry loose-leaf tea, a...
Cranberry Pear from DAVIDsTEA
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 12th, 2014
This is my first DavidsTea. I received in a tea swap called The 12 Days of Christmas. We had a tea for each day, this was Day#1. The tea itself was fragrant and pleasant to look at. Taste was nice, I only detected the taste of the black tea and pear as well as the artificial flavoring they add and wondered if this ...

I thought this to be a very original blend, top-notch.
Very intense lemon fragrance, holding its own against the base tea. Like most lemon myrtle, there's a deep woody or resinous undertone, making a very complex aroma, combined with the malty but fresh aroma of the Kenyan black tea. The lemon myrtle really holds ...
Talk of the Town from Capital Teas

I'm not a huge fan of orange spice teas, but this is my favorite example of one yet.
This was a classic orange spice tea blend, a lot like Market Spice's Cinnamon Orange, or a more refined variant of Bigelow's Constant Comment. If you like either of those teas, I'd recommend this one.
I wish I had had the opport...

The aroma of this tea is mild with notes of vanilla, oak, and fruit. The steeped leaves lose the aroma of vanilla (it is all in the liquid) with notes of fruit and malt.
The taste is fairly mild and subtly sweet and creamy. Not an outstanding tea but a pleasant dessert or morning sip.
Cardamon Tea (Cardamom Tea, Loose) from Ahmad Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Dec. 26th, 2013
One of my very favorite teas, robust, hearty, with a subtle cardamom flavor that is not overwhelming. I like this tea brewed strong in the morning but occasionally drink it in mid-afternoon as well. It makes a nice gift as well, since many people haven't tried it.
