Very GoodFairReasonable

Half-litre pot at home, made from a sample included in the tea company's Advent Tea Calendar (2020) and consisting of a mixture of dried elderberries, pieces of apple, hibiscus blossom, cinnamon, and cardamom, all sprinkled with flavour and possibly containing traces of peanuts - a fair warning to those allergic to nuts - but not a single leaf of tea is to be found in this tea. Pours clear dark blood red (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of apples, with touches of hibiscus and cinnamon. Dry flavour of hibiscus and tart apples, with mild notes of cinnamon and cardamom. Simple and mild aftertaste of hibiscus and cardamom, with touches of cinnamon. Now, this is definitely a decent fruit tea, as the many reviews of it on the tea company’s website confirm. It is just that the taste, and notably the sweetness, are much less pronounced than expected. The aftertaste is so short-lived that one cannot escape the impression of drinking a ghost tea. Be that as it may, this spiritual treat definitely comes at a reasonable price, given the context (ca. €0.42 per 1 sample in the collection; given the disastrously low cost-effectiveness of all fruit teas made by the company, including this one, the sample is actually cheaper than a corresponding amount in loose weight - that's something!).
