Canada 150 Blend Tea Bags from Murchie's Tea & Coffee Ltd

Mar. 11th, 2021

Here's a new blend style for me: green, black and oolong. As the name indicates, Murchie's first produced this to commemorate Canada's 150th anniversary, and it apparently gained enough of a following to keep going as a sale offering. Fittingly, it also is faintly maple flavored—much less so than any of Murchie's ...

Citrus Sunrise Cold Brew from Celestial Seasonings

This tea has been renamed Vitamin C Shine, but it is still the same product.

I'm not big on orange-flavored teas, but this one is pretty good. Its citrus flavor is more mixed and complex. I like it on its own or with honey, and it tastes good on a sore throat or the like.

I've known about this brand of tea for years but only recently got my hands on it, at a local Arab store. The packaging is unusually flimsy, just a single layer of cardboard lining with a foil seal and a plastic lid, but I actually appreciated the lack of plastic wrap as it made for less packaging waste than with other...

Have you ever walked into the lobby of a tire shop, and noted its distinctive aroma of freshly manufactured tire rubber? That was my immediate impression of the taste/scent blend upon drinking this tea, and I can't shake it. It's as if someone liquefied that air in a tire store, and stirred it into a tea. The websit...

Cinnamon Express Black Tea from Celestial Seasonings

80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 11th, 2021

This tea is pretty good for bagged tea -- more balanced than the herbal apple cinnamon tea. This is a solid tea when needing the convenience of a bag. I taste a bit of licorice, which I'm not a big fan of, but it isn't dominant. The cinnamon flavor is pretty nice.

Feb. 9th, 2021

I usually like strong teas and this one has a very subtle flavor with no substantial base to it. When I first tasted it I liked the creamy flavor, but after a while I've gotten tired of it. It has a bright red hue that turns pale pink when I add cream or milk. Probably because of the beets. I can barely taste the almo...

Cinnamon Apple Spice Herbal Tea from Celestial Seasonings

Feb. 9th, 2021

This tea is pleasant so long as it is NOT overbrewed. The tea is very sweet even without sweetener, and the longer it's brewed the sweeter and more intense in flavor it generally gets. I normally prefer strong flavors in my tea, so it's remarkable to me that this is the first time I find a tea to be a bit *too* much. I...

Feb. 4th, 2021

This blend of Indian, Chinese, and Taiwanese teas has a very good aroma imo - toasty and woody, with a little caramel and butterscotch. The flavor is reasonably robust but not heavy, with a dash of metallic tannins. I had it with milk, and tried it with lemon and sugar too. That also worked out well, and which is un...

This tea does not have a strong aroma either in the can or in the cup. Not very malty in flavor, and just ever so slightly astringent. It brews up nice and clear with a very clean taste. Its a nice cup in the morning, but does not have the kick of an Assam tea.

Prince Charles isn't among most heavily advertised teas in the large assortment Murchie's carries, but maybe it should be. It was, according to the website, "originally blended in 1981 to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana." Good thing this tea long outlasted that marriage!

The dry bag gave a sharp...

My wife is trying to cut back caffeine intake, and had me include this offering in the latest virtual "Murchie's run" that we do a time or two per year. And being a big fan of both happy marriages and the $CAD---->$USD exchange rates the last few years, I did not object.

Now that I've tried the tea, I'm glad that I...

I find it a bit weird, but I often like the taste of a good decaf better than the taste of the same regularly caffeinated drink. They can have a nice savory mouthfeel without bitterness.

This decaf is solid, especially for a teabag. For those expressly wanting a non-caffeinated bag tea, this is a strong choice!

This tea is pretty good for a bagged tea. The flavor is strong. Just don’t oversteep it, or it will become bitter. I brewed it for four minutes and that worked well.

Also, I usually prefer my tea plain, but this one was tastier and more satisfying with a bit of milk added. I could definitely see someone using a te...

This is my first Irish breakfast tea (at least by the specific tea). This was a free sample in my most recent adagio box.
