Chinese Breakfast™ - Yunnan Black Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Yunnan Red – Region: Yunnan, China67 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 28th, 2011
A classic Yunnan black tea, unusually smooth for a tea bag. Aroma is complex, with hints of cocoa, wood, and fruit. Peppery finish, characteristic of Yunnan teas.
I recommend a longer steeping time (5+ min). This tea is not as aromatic as a loose-leaf Yunnan, and its flavor is mild so you can steep it for a long ...
Chinese Breakfast™ - Yunnan Black Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Yunnan Red – Region: Yunnan, China73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 24th, 2011
Color: dark brown with hints of amber; has a heavy viscosity and a good bit of cloudiness
Nose: nuts and green spice herbs with a touch of top soil
Taste: hint of walnut but otherwise very generic on the front end, no flavors stick out; again the walnut and not much else on the midpallete, it feels like its leading t...
Gunpowder Green Tea - Temple of Heaven from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Gunpowder Green Tea – Region: ?????87 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5
Jun. 14th, 2011
Color: pale yet thick brown color, nice heavy weight
Nose: green herbal nose, a little dirty and musky as well
Taste: on the front end there's a great smoked herbal flavor, on the midpallete the herbal flavor remains but there's a musty top soil flavor that replaces the smoked flavor, the finish is a musty-ness that ...
Golden Chai™ - Spiced Assam Black Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: Assam, India83 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

I like this tea a lot, even though I didn't follow the steeping instructions exactly for the perfect cup, which involve dancing with a loved one while the tea is steeping. But the tea still turned out very good. I like to drink it with sugar and cream.

I am a huge chocolate lover. I LOVE chocolate. So I've been trying to cut back on it, and I enjoy tea, so I figured I would give this a try. I was hoping for something that tasted like hot chocolate but with 0 calories. :) When I tried it, it almost tastes spicey. I don't taste much chocolate unfortunately, and you can...

The aroma of the dry tea bag is mostly of nutmeg, but upon brewing, more complexity develops. This tea brews a relatively light color, a sort of light orangish brown, much lighter than I'd expect for any tea bag blend containing a significant portion of Pu-erh. The aroma, upon brewing, is dominantly of cocoa, but it'...

Surprisingly weak given that this contains Assam black tea as the main ingredient. I brewed this in a small 6 oz. cup, for 3 minutes, with boiling water, and it still came out fairly weak (and a golden color, not a rich brown color like most black teas). My impression is either that less tea was used, or that a gentl...

The name of this tea should be a clue as to what you are going to get. It tastes like burnt rice. It is an unusual tea and certainly can be enjoyable, but it's likely that many people won't like it (especially if you've ever eaten burnt rice and didn't like it).
Making multiple cups doesn't work very well, after th...
Lapsang Souchong - Smoky Tarry from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Lapsang Souchong – Region: Wuyi, Fujian, China60 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 5/5

I always get excited when I see brands carry Lapsang Souchong, mostly because I can't imagine their consumer base for it is very large.
Numi's always tends to be pretty satisfying if not a bit thin and their Smoky Tarry blend is no exception. They really play up the smokey-ness in the aroma but then you take a sip ...

Virtually no aroma (which is fine with me). A mild but very good flavor. The strength of this tea is the fact that you don't notice it, you just enjoy it.

this is alright as earl greys go, but certainly not excellent. the bergamot was not as strong as i like it. smooth.
kind of expensive. there are better earl greys out there... my favorite is zhena's gypsy - uplifting earl grey. earl grey supreme by rishi is also good.
Berry Black™ - Raspberry Darjeeling Black Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5

Certainly one of the better bagged teas I've tried and one I really enjoyed.
The fruit taste can get a little strong if the tea is steeped more than about 4 minutes, i've found that 3-4 minutes with hotter water is just about perfect.
Nice aroma, and well balanced, the fruit does not overpower the darjeeling fl...
Emperor's Puerh - Black Tea from Numi Organic Tea
Style: Pu-erh Tea – Region: Yunnan, China60 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

I actually kind of like this tea. I agree that it smells weird when you first brew it (if that's meant to be 'malty'...) however it tastes pretty smooth and is overall a satisfying puerh for a box brand you can get in any supermarket.

This is pretty tasty. Very spicy, perhaps too many sharp as opposed to sweet notes for my taste. A little expensive but a nice, strong chai.

Terrible. The aroma as you start to sip is reminiscent of body odor. The flavor, if you can get past the smell, hints at dirt. Not good at all. I gave the rest of the box away.

This tea has an ineffable something I find difficult to articulate. Blossomy, subtly sweet, yet complex in flavor. Would love to drink more.

I normally am not a fan of sour teas but I like this one...it's tart but not too much so. It's also pleasantly bitter and very aromatic. I agree with Anne's comments that this cuts through sweet and heavier foods. Oddly refreshing!

This is a very strange tea, strong and sour. I almost dislike it, except that I think it cuts through something sweet and rich -chocolate- with flair. I occasionally like the contrast after dinner.

This is my favorite Earl Grey that I've ever had from teabags. It has a very bold bergamot aroma, with a clean and refreshing quality. It is much smoother than most black teas: very little astringency, while still having a rich flavor.
A bit expensive for a teabag tea, but more reasonable considering the quality a...
