Sleepytime’s comforting aroma and perfectly balanced flavor are achieved by blending soothing herbal ingredients from around the world – including floral Egyptian chamomile, cool spearmint from the Pacific Northwest, and lively Guatemalan lemongrass. This global synergy is only fitting, since all over the world, generations of tea lovers have wound down their day with Sleepytime.

This isn't the Ambien of tea and won't knock you out, but instead, is a smooth, easy, comfortable tea to slow-pour down one's gullet a couple hours before bedtime. A friend with similar tea tastes described it as a distant melody of smooth jazz, in tea form. Not being a jazz fan, I can't relate. Take her word for that, not mine.
The main impediment to a higher score is the mildness of the flavor. It could use a couple notches more potency. I have to steep this to death and stir the bag 'round-n-'round for several minutes to pull out enough flavor to appreciate. But once there, the taste is rather pleasant and friendly.
57 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 5/10RosaMoonThe tea is nice and relaxing (most sittings with tea are) but this one was nice for an evening brew. Goes best with honey and milk since the flavor is very dusty with an aftertaste.

As someone who greatly prefers peppermint over spearmint, this tea was notably less offensive than I expected. In fact, it isn't even bad. If toning down spearmint gum and putting it in drink form sounds good to you, you'll enjoy this one. It isn't a favorite of mine, but that's due to personal taste rather than quality problems. The chamomile is muted, if there at all. I think it gives it more body rather than flavor--and that's fine with me, as I'm not big on pure chamomile either. If I concentrate I might taste some of the lemongrass, but that could easily be my imagination.
Considering that it's an inexpensive tea bag, it does what it's trying to do quite well.
70 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 7/10MarikoAlthough this isn't my favorite chamomile blend, this is absolutely my favorite among the teas I've tried from Celestial Seasonings thus far--perhaps primarily because it's not as overwhelmingly sweet and fruity as the others. The flavor is mild and easy on the palate, but not overly subtle.

As an aside, I primarily know this blend as the tea of choice to serve with Benadryl to loud and hard-to-handle drunks.

My only peeve is 2 stores we went to (Meijers and Walmart) had variations of this with other flavors (raspberry..yech), but not the original one.
half poor half good smell...some is chamomile which I don't like and the other seems to be of mint. Flavor is too light for me....wish it was stronger...
60 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 3/10spaflamI don't care for mint teas - that said I can tolerate spearmint moreso than peppermint. Sleepytime has been around for years and years and is easily found in stores.

One of the coziest parts of this tea is the box design with a bear curled up wearing his nightcap! Of course, the tea itself is nicely soothing as well. Perhaps my tastebuds are not as nuanced as the other reviewers- I mostly just taste the chamomile. For me, Sleepytime tea is nice for bedtime, but not something I would be excited about drinking at other times of day.
100 Aroma: 10/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall: 10/10SephyI absolutely love this tea. I let it steep longer than recommended because I enjoy the stronger flavor of spearmint. It's also nice because I've found that I can often brew the same bag twice. While the flavor is definitely less strong, it is still tasty and not as diluted as many other teas. Sleepytime is my favorite before bed or when I'm stressed.
