Green Tea from Wegmans
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????50 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 21st, 2016
Blah. This is another cheapie-green tea that will do in a pinch - or during times of desperation. There are way better teas on the market. Super cheap. Taste moderately vegetal and green - a good bit of astringency. Must be allowed to steep for 3-4 minutes.
Basic. Cheap. Fair.
Organic Green Tea from Trader Joe's
Style: Green Tea – Region: Nilgiri, India37 / 100 Aroma: 4/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5

This is a Mediocre, easy to find (at every TJ's) green tea with a slight "green grassy" taste. Not horrible, but not delicious. There are way better teas (some cheaper, some more expensive) that simply taste fresher and better.
Seemed a little stale tasting - even though I just bought it. Well, at least I did not...
Republic Darjeeling from Republic of Tea
Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India70 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 20th, 2016
I LOVE Darjeeling - and next to a jasmine green, a darjeeling is the PERFECT cup for me - especially in the AM. That said, Republic's loose version is a terrific value. Can't guarantee that it is first flush - but it is a very good value and I enjoy this one and have purchased it twice ($13 for a tin). Now comes in ...

This is a delicious, light-bodied (super light, actually) and fruity fragrant tea. You smell it more than you taste it - at least for me. Terrific at brunch - as Ariel says. I do think it would be pleasant as an iced tea - but you'd have to hot-brew it and let it steep a long time before chilling. (Don;t over ice i...

With Tea Forte you are paying for cutesy packaging - and these are terrific for gift giving - hostess gifts, bridal showers etc. The tea itself is usually good but not mind blowing and their "estate" darjeeling is good. Very nice, actually, and I am a BIG darjeeling fan (The first flush from Republic of tea is terrif...

It's better than some of their flavored teas (like the dreaded "Constant Comment - that stuff is like potpourri), and OK in a pinch at the office (which is where I get this stuff). I would never spend money on Bigelow teas.

Blargh! One of my office-mates LOVES this stuff - but what does he know? Anyhow - it's OK. Just OK. Smells better than it brews-up. Dark black tea with a hint of sweetness. Just OK. Very inexpensive - thus it is available at many offices - like mine. (Jenna T. Drinker sums it up perfectly.)

Style: Ceylon Black Tea – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I have no problem with Ahmad teas and the Ceylon is about as basic a full-bodied black tea as you can get. Better hot but OK iced as you can add juices, fruits or flavorings as you wish. Inexpensive.
Smooth, easy to drink and as Alex says - a "classic" cuppa tea.
Mango Magic (Black Tea) from Ahmad Tea

I love this fruity-scented mango black tea that smells and tastes great! (No milk - ever!) Not even sweetener is needed. The super-strong black teabag can do 2-3 infusions easily!

For a genmaicha (which I enjoy in spring/summer) I really love this one - probably my favorite roasted-toasted brown-rice note-filled tea. Even good over ice - and unsweetened for a true grain-filled experience. I actually love this one - but if you are not a Genmaicha lover - you may not want to try this one. More ...

Uber-sweet - and a bit cloying for me - but my kid loves it for whatever reason and the packaging (which makes it pricey) is cute and giftable. With Tea Forte - it's all about the packaging and sometimes the actual teas are "just OK". A few are good. You have to try and see which you prefer. Expensive, but giftable...

Ah, Starbucks - you and your mergers & acquisitions. This is the new Passion tea (super fruity and a pretty color)they use in their ice tea and tea/lemonade beverages now. I prefer the green - but this is kid friendly - my 11 year old like it - and a nod to the Teavana purchase. Overpriced if you buy it but the cup ...

I love to brew up pearled teas - and jasmine pearls ROCK for me - so I liked this one. Fun to watch the pearls unfurl when you brew them. Delicious jasmine/green/floral notes. Fun to drink and requires no sweetener.

This is an easy-drinking green tea with grassy notes an a faint whiff of herbs (I dunno - but I get an herbaceous quality if you let it steep long enough.) Must steep at least 3 minutes as it brews up "pale". Good hot and OK on ice. I live this one better hot. Super-mild. As with all Harney & Sons - beautifully pac...

Super cheap and - if you can get it (try H-Mart or other Asian grocers) it's a good bagged Genmaicha option. Refreshing in summer with a roasty-toasty aroma. Grassy notes - and also a sweetness (I do not get a "Honey Smacks" note).
Can even be OK over ice.
Genmaicha from Harney and Sons

Roasty-Toasty but not worth the price - there are better (and also worse - see my other Gen Mai Cha reviews) versions available. If you are a Gen mai lover (Roasted rice/grain notes) this is a decent choice but no holy grail. Very nice in summer.

Just OK - and I did not get the "Honey Smacks" note - but there is an odd sweetness to this rice/grain tea. I generally love Gen Mai Cha - but 2 leaves version is just fair. Fortunately it is not too expensive - and I was able to try it at a local coffee/tea shop so now I know not to buy a whole box. Not bad - but t...

Too expensive to buy by the bag ($2.39 plus tax in Starbucks for a Tall) but very good green tea and worth buying a box.
Green but not grassy, light and fresh tasting. Easy to drink hot.

Had this at a restaurant - not bad but not my fave. A bright cranberry top note and a hint of apples underneath. OK. Caffeine free. Inexpensive and easy to find. Smells better than it tastes. (Potpourri ish).

I like Tea Forte - and their packaging is excellent. But it's what's inside that sachet that counts - and this Green "Gunpowder" style tea is delicious with a mild, (generic?) grassy flavor that I happen to enjoy. Is it the best green ever? Not by a long-shot - but it is solid and easy to drink (I do it unsweetened,...

Firstly, let me preface this by saying that I HATE Roiboos. But for a roiboos-based blend this one is tolerable (so most people I bet will like it). Smells very sweet - and has a vanilla taste to it that makes it palatable.
I had this at an event and would never purchase a box. Blargh!

This is a STRONG black tea - that stands up well to sweetener and/or milk (I never put milk nor cream in tea but if you do this is a good one). Brews up DARK in seconds. You can easily get 2-3 infusions from a bag. May no longer be available?
Not a holy grail - but a solid, caffeinated "Breakfast-style" tea that ...
