Steep by Bigelow Organic Dandelion & Peach Rooibos & Green from Bigelow Tea
Style: Rooibos / Tea Blend – Region: ?????47 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
May. 18th, 2022
The ingredients list rooibos first, so it can't be more than half green tea. The dry tea bag smells exactly like freeze-dried peaches and so does the tea while steeping.
The tea tastes like peach with a hint of earthiness from the rooibos and possibly the dandelion. If I concentrate, I can make out a bit of green te...
Steep Organic Pure Green Decaffeinated Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????42 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Jul. 19th, 2021
After my experiences with other teas in the Steep line, I'm a little disappointed in this tea. It's not terrible, though.
The dry tea smells like dusty hay, vegetal, but otherwise nondescript.
The brewing tea smells grassy, but the aroma is a bit weak. There's also a sort of "shrimp" note that I've detected in ot...
Steep Rooibos Hibiscus Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Flavored Rooibos – Region: ?????66 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 16th, 2019
Upon opening the foil pouch, this smells strongly and plainly of rooibos. Adding the water brings a surprisingly strong aroma of orange oil.
The flavors play well together. The orange lends sweetness to the tart hibiscus and rose hips. The nuttiness of the rooibos adds a nice, nutty complexity that isn't often foun...
Lemon Lift Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Lemon Black Tea – Region: ?????63 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 8th, 2019
The dry teabag smells like a spiced cake, like carrot cake or gingerbread. The spice is predominantly cinnamon (mellow "Ceylon" cinnamon rather than the hotter cassia), but there's something else there, too, like nutmeg or ginger.
Interestingly, the instructions say to only steep for two minutes. I'm ignoring their ...
Green Tea with Mint from Bigelow Tea
Style: Green Tea with Mint – Region: ?????40 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Mar. 19th, 2019
The green tea smells stronger than it tastes. There's nothing offensive about it, but neither is it satisfying. I rather suspect that Bigelow's green teas are blended for those that drink green tea for purported health benefits rather than the flavor. It's mild and not bitter, but it lacks any brightness or vegetal com...

Style: Chamomile Blend – Region: ?????53 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Mar. 14th, 2019
I've had a few knockoffs of this lately, so I figured I'd review the real thing. Sweet Dreams is basically chamomile tea for people that don't like chamomile. When dry, the dominant aroma is spearmint. After steeping, it's a subdued mintiness with a bit of cinnamon and citrus.
The flavor complements the aroma and se...
Steep Earl Grey Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: ?????80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 11th, 2019
The dry tea smells very strongly of bergamot and very much like Bigelow's regular Earl Grey.
The taste is much different than the regular Bigelow. Much more tea shines through the citrus. I suspect that the base tea is the Steep English Breakfast, which is a flavorful Sri Lankan/Ceylon tea with a mellow cocoa bitter...
Cranberry Apple Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend62 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 10th, 2019
The smell of the dry tea bag is, per the name, cranberry and apple. The flavor of the tea is quite different, though, being predominantly hibiscus and rose hips. After the initial tart rush, the apple comes out. It tastes quite nice, like the apple peel flavor of freeze-dried apple chips. If I try, I can taste a little...

The dry tea smells like lemons and the first ingredient is lemongrass, so I was expecting a much more lemony flavor than I'm getting. The flavor is mostly chamomile with a sort of far-off whiff of lemon peel. I'm curious about the lemongrass because the flavor's normally more pronounced when it's an ingredient. It's al...

Style: Darjeeling Black Tea – Region: Darjeeling, India68 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 10th, 2019
The dry tea has the same basic smell of other blended Darjeelings. It's smells of dry leaves in autumn, a bit oaky and of raw pecans.
I tend to find Darjeeling teas to be somewhat more delicate than I'd prefer. This one is no exception, but I also wouldn't call it weak. It's lightly astringent with a very mild bitte...
Steep English Breakfast Fair Trade Certified Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: English Breakfast – Region: Sri Lanka / Ceylon90 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Jan. 10th, 2019
Without beating around the bush, this is a really good Sri Lankan/Ceylon tea. This seems to be one of the few brands of bagged tea that selected Sri Lankan tea for its flavors rather than for simply being "mild". This tea is remarkably similar in flavor to Ahmad and Alwazah branded Ceylon teas that are available from M...

Style: Flavored Tea – Region: ?????77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Jan. 10th, 2019
This is really interesting tea and not at all what I was expecting. The dry bag of chopped, dark tea smells like an oolong with a medium oxidation and roast. I couldn't smell any jasmine until after I added water, and even then it's faint.
I really like the way this tea smells. There's a heavy note of toasted flour,...
Peppermint Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Peppermint Tea – Region: ?????75 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 9th, 2019
A really clean-tasting peppermint with a nice menthol finish. Slightly herbal, but no straw or hay flavors that lesser peppermint teas sometimes have.
Steep Pure Green Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????50 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 9th, 2019
The flavor of this tea is quite mild, but pleasant. There's a nice bitterness on the sides of the tongue and just enough astringency to feel a bit "fuzzy". There's a hint of cabbage or broccoli flavor with a hint of spiciness. This tea's a bit sweeter than other green teas.
I'm tasting this tea alongside several oth...
Green Tea - Classic from Bigelow Tea
Style: Green Tea – Region: ?????30 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5
Jan. 9th, 2019
I occasionally drink the decaffeinated version of this tea because it still tastes a bit like green tea. It turns out that that's exactly how the caffeinated version tastes—a bit like green tea. There's some vegetal freshness and a little grassy bitterness on the back of the tongue, but that's pretty much it. If you ...

Jan. 8th, 2019
After trying the green tea version of Constant Comment and liking it, I'm really disappointed in the green Earl Grey. The bergamot flavoring is much lighter than in Bigelow's black tea Earl Grey, presumably to let the flavor of the green tea through, such as it is. The very light flavor of the base tea coupled with les...

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: ?????60 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 8th, 2019
As with the black tea version of Constant Comment, the dominant flavors are clove and orange peel. I'm tasting them both side-by-side at the moment and since Bigelow's green and black teas are both mild, the differences are subtle. The flavor of the green tea has a nice brightness and a faint hint of the grassy bittern...

Even before steeping, the teabag smells pungently of ginger.
The flavor is intense. Spicy ginger and lemongrass are the initial punch and the finish is lime. Some of the spice might be from the cinnamon, but I don't otherwise taste any of the other ingredients.
Drinking this offers a similar flavor to licking fre...
Mint Medley® Herbal Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Mint Tea – Region: ?????55 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 12th, 2018
Both the dry and brewed tea smell almost like Wrigley's Doublemint gum with the balance a little more toward peppermint.
The taste is not what I was expecting. The tea is definitely minty, but as the ingredients include rose hips, lemon peel and hibiscus, I was expecting some fruitiness. Of the extra ingredients, I ...
Plantation Mint® Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Black Tea with Mint – Region: ?????45 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 2/5
Dec. 12th, 2018
Both the dry tea bag and brewing tea smell like straight-up spearmint oil.
Bigelow's base tea is too mild to stand up to the spearmint and I can neither taste nor smell any tea at all. Aside from the color, this is indistinguishable from plain spearmint. The spearmint is good, but I expect to taste tea in my tea.

Constant Comment® from Bigelow Tea
Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????55 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 24th, 2018
I like decaf Constant Comment, but hadn't gotten around to trying the original version. It turns out, it's not much different. I can taste a little of the maltiness in the finish, but that's about it. I already know that decaf black teas have little tea flavor, but I was hoping there would be more in this one. A bit of...

The dry tea smells strongly of bergamot. There's no hint of other flavors, citrus or otherwise, that other brands sometimes add.
Adding water really doesn't change much. I smell bergamot and a weak hint of dry leaves. The flavor's more balanced than I would have expected, though. The underlying black tea is mellow, ...
English Teatime from Bigelow Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????40 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 2/5

The aroma is faint, but malty. The tea tastes thin and a bit cooked. Not offensive, just not much going on. If I take a big sip, there's a warm bitterness on the sides of the tongue that's nice.
As the tea cools down, it's more astringent and bitter than before. I'm trying to taste what might be in the blend and it ...
Raspberry Royale® Black Tea from Bigelow Tea
Style: Fruit Black Tea – Region: ?????65 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 4/5
Jun. 9th, 2018
I like this tea. The flavor is quite complex and I'm not sure which flavors are the tea itself and which are "other natural flavors." The malt sweetness of the tea is foremost and the raspberry flavor is unmistakable, but subtle. The tea tastes alternately of Ceylon and Assam, coupling the malt with an almost roasted f...

The dry, standard tea bag smells like "blue raspberry" candy. Nice, but no complexity. Adding the water brings out the aroma of the hibiscus. The brewing tea is even deeper red than hibiscus, so the elderberries must be for color.
The flavor is hibiscus and rose hips with a little raspberry in the finish. The tartne...
