India's Original Masala Chai from Golden Tips
Style: Chai / Spiced Tea – Region: India83 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

A traditional chai that is smooth in flavor but is potently spiced, and equally enjoyable with and without milk.
For having such a finely-broken (CTC) base, this tea is surprisingly mellow and smooth. The dry leaf smells very fresh and light, and the dominant aroma is cardamom, and I can also detect clove. This bo...

Not bad, but a bit too dominated by licorice (aroma and flavor) for my taste. Spicy, sweet, and best as a latte in my opinion. It doesn't go bitter easily, thankfully.

A smooth, mild chai that was pleasant to drink but disappointing in its lack of strength and cinnamon-heavy spice blend. Sampled at Velvet Sky bakery.
This tea was surprisingly weak and unsatisfying, even when brewed using more leaf than I normally use. I'm also not crazy about the combination of spices. Cinnamon ...

It's not my all-time favorite chai, but this tea is very solid. The cardamom flavor is the most notable and it provides a certain briskness to it. You should, in my opinion, definitely add a bit of sugar and milk (creamer works too if that's all you have at your job). This really makes it an enjoyable, fairly invigorat...

Quite solid tea. I only tried it straight, without milk or sugar. I suspect it'd be even better with milk and perhaps sweetener, but it's pretty good on its own. Cinnamon is definitely the strongest spice I smell. Decently substantial flavor without bitterness. If you're needing a cheap decaffeinated chai, this one isn...

One of the worst chai teas that I've had. There was way too much cinnamon and was very poorly balanced. Also, the price is quite high for a chai tea of this quality. The aroma was pleasing, even after brewing. It smelled like it should taste better than it did. Overall, I don't recommend it.

Nice warm smell with a twinge of spice...very light and soothing, taste is very middle of the road...mild, slight bitter green tea taste, good finish that is very slightly spiced...much more "vegetable-ly" and bitter when cools and bag stays in ...only complaint is that it is boring

I love this tea, especially blended with Teavana's Samurai Chai Mate. You can easily see and smell the spice combination of cloves, cinnamon, pepper, and nutmeg. My only issue is that the spices lose their individuality in the liquor and the tea tastes "one note" when it is not blended with another tea. Overall, a fant...

After reading the reviews that said the flavor was a bit weak, I steeped mine until the water turned cold and added a bit of sugar and milk. I think the longer brewing time helped the weak flavor. It was pretty good, though a bit astringent at the bottom of my mug. The aroma is awesome, but the flavor just doesn't live...

This black chai tea is the standard by which I compare others.
I prepare it with about 8oz. water, 2 tsp. sugar, and 2 tbsp. milk. It is very smooth and the proportion of tea and spices is excellent.
Another plus is its low price and wide availability.

Mmmm, this is lovely. Smoky, spicy… reminds me of sitting around a campfire on a cool fall evening, after dark, with a cup of chai in my hands.

I quite enjoyed this tea. The most notable spice in the smell and flavor is cardamom, but it isn't overpowering. I can also detect the undertones of apple that Alex mentioned.
For me, this tea worked both straight and with milk. Not my all time favorite, but a decent chai. Works well with food, too. Though progressi...

The aroma starts out with a strong note of dried apples giving it a blend of sweet and just a hint of tart, this moved onto pepper, cloves, a but of cinnamon, and just a touch of cardamon and coconut at the finish. It certainly smells like a chai, but it has a tropical edge from the coconut and a much milder spice prof...

This chai smells so good ... like cloves and cinnamon, or spiced apple cider. It tastes a little weak, and not really like it smells, but it's still enjoyable.

Interesting tea. The spice combination isn't my favorite, but it isn't bad. I think the cardamom is a little too strong relative to the other flavors. I definitely think this is one to drink with milk, in which case it could be exactly what you're craving when the mood strikes you. The black tea works well and isn't at...

The flavor of this chai is excellent, if somewhat less spicy than is my preference; however, be warned that you'll need to limit the size of the cup if you want to be able to taste much of anything. No tall cups or full thermoses for you! For those of you who like to make chai lattes, I would avoid adding milk and suga...

The aroma from my little pile of CTC leaves and spices is sweet, spicy, and malty! There is a strong ginger note, a moderately strong note of cardamon, and lastly a mellow note of malt and a finish of cinnamon.
This is a very mellow Chai, taken traditionally with milk (ok I use Half & Half since I love creaminess) ...

I adore a good chai tea, but I thought this one could have stood to possess more of a 'kick'. I also couldn't quite tell where I was supposed to detect the vanilla! I did not prepare this chai as a latte, and I have the feeling that had I done so I might not have been able to detect any actual spice at all. Nonetheless...

Based on the deliciously spicy dry aroma I was very excited to try this tea. Unfortunately, the flavor was much more flat, weak, and less interesting. How unfortunate.
On the plus side, it makes for a solid latte. So if you like your tea with milk and perhaps a bit of sugar, this may well be a favorite cup for you. ...

Presuming this is the same tea as Wegman's Organic Chocolate Chai. ($39.99/LB) This tea looks neat in the package with the huge chunks of chocolate but we will see how the transitions to the steeped product.

Very sweet and very spicy are the first things I notice when appreciating this tea. The leaves and spices are a beautiful combination of colors...pardon me while I ogle this tea for a moment. The aroma of the tea is expectantly spicy, deliciously so, I would go as far as mouth-wateringly so, but it is no secret that I go gaga for spices. The Assam is rich and malty with notes of molasses as well, it is quite sweet, also the spices are strong but well balanced. None of this cinnamon elbowing its way to the f...
